My 2012 Houston Auto Show Experience

(UPDATED: February 12, 2012)

My 2012 Houston Auto Show experience will be expressed in this massive blog post. This year's show marks the tenth or eleventh time I've been to the Houston Auto Show. There's a lot of reading here as I share a lot of my 2012 experience here. A vast array of vehicles and manufacturers shown up on the showroom floor at Reliant Center. To keep this simple, I will break up the 2012 experience into a few parts.

Hello to all of my Houston/Galveston area readers and visitors! To see my other Houston Auto Show posts, please click on the following link to see my latest posts under the "Houston Auto Show" category. And one last time...

--- Houston Auto Show at a Glance ---

(NOTE: The first three sentences were provided from a Wikipedia entry)

The 2012 Houston Auto Show marks the 29th Annual edition of this show. The very first Houston Auto Show was held in 1984 at the Astrohall, but has been held at Reliant Center since 2002. Wikipedia says that the Houston Auto Show attracts over 450K visitors each year. Houston is not any kind of glamourous city. Likewise, the Houston Auto Show is not much glamourous auto show. It may not be the New York International Auto Show, the Los Angeles International Auto Show, the Chicago Auto Show, the North American International Auto Show, or even the Dallas Auto Show (as far as Texas is concerned); but the Houston Auto Show is our link to the automobile world. This year's show brought about a great variety of automobiles and automobile makers. Everything from FIAT to Ferrari was featured this year with a multitude of sections and exhibits.

In addition to being a great auto show, it is also a marketplace for smaller businesses as well as a chance for people to actually conduct car shopping. This is where you can learn more about automobiles and even get something arranged so you can shop for cars. For most visitors, though, it is a chance to get up close and personal with many of the world's automobiles featured on the floor. Many of the cars can have doors opened, hoods/bonnets opened, trunks/boots opened, and things like that. Some machines are completely closed off from the public, leaving one to just look from afar and take pictures. Everything from low-priced economy cars, to six-figure supercars, to priceless concepts, and even some race cars all occupy the same show floor at Reliant Center. Exhibitions are held outside in the parking lot of Reliant Center for more ways to enjoy the Houston Auto Show experience.

The 2012 Houston Auto Show has left me with a number of experiences that I'd like to share. While this may be a seriously long blog post featuring many experiences with cars, it is a comprehensive post regarding what all I experienced and thought about the year's Houston Auto Show.

--- About This Series ---

What you are reading is Part 1- a look at my 2012 Houston Auto Show experience. It combines some of the many cars I saw at this year's Houston Auto Show and even includes some random nonsense.

Part 2 is a special regarding who were some of the best-dressed ladies on the floor at the 2012 Houston Auto Show. It is my chance to highlight some of the nicest-dressed from the show floor. It is also my gift to my fashion-loving types. Of course, I try to protect privacy because I do this for fun. It may be possible that I may or may not do a post this year talking about the models and hostesses that walked the show floor. Be sure to keep tuned to John's Blog Space to see if I do indeed make a post on these ladies.

I broke this up into a few different fields. Here is the order of my travels around the Reliant Center show floor. --- Houston Auto Show 2012: Experiences ---

Allow me to set up the experience. Remember- there is a LOT of reading, so if you want to skip ahead to a certain manufacturer, feel free to do a Search/Find function in this post!

Prologue...

I arrived at the Houston Auto Show with my family some time around 5:30 PM. It was a beautifully clear Saturday evening with high temperatures around 62°F. The show would last until about 9:30 PM. Whatever I wanted to check out would have to be done in about three hours. So with this, I had to make my work mostly diligent and efficient.

Before even laying eyes on any car inside Reliant Center, the first thing I took a picture of was a Ferrari transporter truck. I quickly took a picture of that transporter, thinking that something VERY cool was probably going to be inside the Reliant Center from Ferrari. I would try to find out what could be from Ferrari from the show. I would quickly try to snap a picture of the Ferrari transporter before eventually heading into Reliant Center.

Finally stepping inside Reliant Center, I knew I was ready for a Saturday evening unlike any other. I felt like I had to work quickly since the show would shut down heading into 9:30 PM. In past Houston Auto Shows, I would spend a good deal of time looking at cars and stepping inside of them. I would even interact with the crowd on the floor as well as various representatives of each manufacturer and each section. This is the reason why I love the Houston Auto Show for reasons other than cars. While I label myself a "Public Figure" on my Facebook fan page, this is the only real occasion where I actually feel like a public figure. All I can do really is promote myself casually and occasionally mention "John's Blog Space."

There was a point where I didn't think I'd make it out to the Houston Auto Show on Saturday night. However, I was there. I had my Sony Bloggie MHS-PM5 charged up and ready for action. I had ported over previous pictures and videos stored on my 2GB SD card so make room for more space on my SD card. I was ready to go.

And so it begins...

Chapter 1: Ford and Lincoln.

The usual starting point for me is Ford, since it's directly in front of me from the entrance I came into Reliant Center at.

• Ford
As usual, the starting point was around the Ford section. I first observed the same pool table shaped like a Ford Mustang. The first actual car on the show floor I noted were Mustangs. Not just any Mustangs, though- modern Boss 302 Mustangs. One was in orange while another was in a nice sky blue color. The very nice current Taurus was met up with the 2013 Taurus. The 2013 Taurus boasted a more aggressive-looking, yet still stylish front end. I saw the Flex there as well. My brother's favorite was in the Ford section- the Transit Connect. I then saw the newer Ford Fusion... or should I call it the Jaguar Fusion or the Aston Martin Fusion. The front grill looks mostly like an Aston Martin grill affixed to a Ford Fusion.

I would return much later in my experience to take a few pictures of the radical Ford Raptor SVT and a few more Ford trucks.

• Lincoln
It used to be that you'd feel older than you are if you drive a Lincoln. Well, the sharper-styled Lincolns of late were pleasing to the eyes. It began with the Lincoln MKX followed by seeing the lovely Navigator.

Chapter 2: Rolls-Royce Through Lotus.

My excitement was about to peak as I seen some of the cars in this section.

• Rolls-Royce and Maserati
I first laid eyes on a white Rolls-Royce that looked very beautiful. That was followed up by a black Rolls-Royce I saw later. Sharing the same area was Bentley, and they came in force with a Continental GT convertible and the Bentley Mulsanne. The Mulsanne could have been styled much better up front. Big reason why was the headlight arrangement.

• Maserati
To be honest, I'm not really into Maserati. They are still a classic marque in automobiles and in racing. I felt like a giddy schoolgirl when I saw the Maserati MC12 raced by Risi Competizione in 2005. The MC12 fell into a lot of controversy in the American Le Mans Series. It could race in the series, but not for any points towards a championship. Still, there was nothing like seeing this beautiful beast in the flesh. I never really liked the Quattroporte, but it was in the Maserati area. What I DO love from Maserati was the GranTurismo, and there were two of them. One was a hot momma called the Maserati GranTurismo MC Stradale. The other one was a GranTurismo convertible.

• Ferrari
Ferrari at the Houston Auto Show can be fairly rare at times. This may be the best Ferrari showing in my 10+ appearances at the Houston Auto Show. Part of that was in seeing the Ferrari F430 GT2 campaigned by Houston-based Risi Competizione. Some of the road-going Ferraris were present at the show as well. For one, the Ferrari FF was there. The FF is Ferrari's practical 4WD machine; but man- it's (and defend it all you want- I don't care) it's ugly. The 458 Italia was also present among the cars in the Ferrari section. Now on to road-going Ferraris I REALLY like... starting with the California. The Ferrari California is a lovely machine to me with a lovelier engine roar. Also showing up was the VERY hot Ferrari 599 GTO. That engine sounds outstanding! Good as that is, something even more outstanding caught my eye at the Ferrari section- a recent Ferrari Formula 1 race car! It was the closest I have EVER gotten towards an actual Formula 1 race car in my life. I knew I was going to be popular among Facebook friends to snap pictures of an F1 car. I was extremely jacked to be right in front of an F1 car.

• Porsche and Lamborghini
Behind me was the Porsche and Lamborghini section. A sky blue Porsche 911 GT3 RS 4.0 was behind me as I was trying to snap the Ferrari F430 GT2. I came around the Lamborghini Aventador in all of its lustful appeal. That car is absolutely beautiful. It is a mean and rugged Italian beast with Reventon DNA, but this car is just lovely to me. While I never really liked the Gallardo, I saw a Gallardo spyder in a nice blue color.

• Aston Martin and Lotus
Up next was the Aston Martin and Lotus section. Aston Martin's usual suspects were there- a few DB9s as well as the lovely four-door Aston Martin Rapide. This section would have been even more cool if the One-77 was in the house. Lotus mostly had the Evora models featured. It was great to see this British beauty in the flesh again.

• Mercedes-Benz
Even though the program guide I had said Saleen, Mercedes-Benz was featured in that section. Nothing too special to chat about from Mercedes-Benz. Sad thing is that I failed to properly name any of the specific Mercedes-Benz models as I was putting my pictures on Facebook.

Chapter 3: Aftermarket and Others.

There was the DUB Show Live section at the Houston Auto Show, but I did not go inside that area, so nothing to report there.

The aftermarket area showcases some of the finest custom automobiles. The one thing that interests me the most is in seeing the handicapped-access vehicles. Very great to see how vehicles are customized to meet the needs of handicapped or disabled folk. I'm always fascinated to see this section. I hope I never get into any situation which would render me towards using a wheelchair for the rest of my life.

The coolest vehicle I saw in this area was anything but handicapped access- a HUGE red Freightliner truck was there. I took a picture up front, but I would later take a picture from the rear. That Freightliner was MASSIVE! Only other cool car I saw was a 2003 Pontiac Grand Prix drag racing car. It looked like a Pro Stock machine.

Chapter 4: Classic Cars and Mazda.

"Why would John discuss classic cars, then put Mazda in the same chapter?" Hey! I have to divide up my stuff some kind of way!

• Classic Cars
"Feeling like a kid again" is a great way to describe seeing the old-style cars. Of course, all of the cars in this section were around in my time. As much as modern cars can be stylish, sometimes, you're like "man... f*** these modern cars! Give me some old cars!" There were plenty of cars featured in the classic cars area. All of which were before my time. I LOVED seeing a white 1960 Chevrolet Corvette as well as a 1964 1/2 Ford Mustang. A very hot 1967 Corvette also shown up in the classic car area. It was a beautiful Corvette. I also saw a lovely 1955 Ford Fairlane Crown Victoria in coral and white.

• Mazda
Time to go from old school cool to new school hip. Mazda believes in zoom-zoom. They don't build what they don't think is worth driving. The first two Mazdas I laid eyes on were the CX-7 and the CX-9. Both of them are very sporty and stylish crossover SUVs. I've always loved these two machines. The Mazdaspeed 3 was in the house at Mazda as well with its gaping wide smile. While the MX-5/Miata has a cute smiling face up front, I was starting to see the MX-5 as being cute. This car has ALWAYS gotten such a bad rap from some people for its cutesy looks. Still, name me any affordable sports cars within the price range of the MX-5. It's a RWD roadster for Christ's sake!

The one sad thing about this was that I didn't get to see the beautiful lady whom I call the world's most beautiful pin-up girl: Heidi Van Horne. Would have made the classic cars experience better. Oh, well... have to move on.

Chapter 5: Chrysler Through Jeep.

This block features Chrysler products.

• Chrysler
Time to give some love to the Chrysler boys and girls. My journey began with Chrysler and the Sebring-replacing 200. It took me a little bit to connect with the newer design of Chrysler. I was so used to the design of cars like the previous model 300 as well as the Sebring. However, these newer Chryslers are beautiful with a great deal of character.

• Dodge
The Dodge area featured a good deal of cars and trucks.
One of the hostesses at Dodge featured the Dodge Dart on a turntable. It was a very nicely-designed car, but many Dodge purists hated to see the Dart namesake revived for a peppy front-wheel drive compact as opposed to a modern interpretation of the classic Dodge Dart.

• FIAT
I didn't spend too much time at FIAT. Don't hate FIAT; just didn't spend too much time. I snapped a picture of the FIAT 500 Abarth. Don't get your hopes up if you're an old-schooler, though... the newer Abarth is NOT the 1966 FIAT Abarth that had rear-wheel drive with a huge engine mounted in the rear. I just wonder how much longer FIAT will last since I've heard of how poor sales have been for FIAT here in the States. Haven't heard of any reliability issues of recent FIAT models either. Then too, some people think FIAT stands for "Fix it Again, Tony."

• SRT
I noted quite a few SRT Dodges. Oh, wait... SRT has recently become it's own brand. So there were a good number of SRT machines featured. The ones that really caught my eye were the SRT8 300 and the Charger SRT models. These were sweet to see.

• RAM
Finally, I noted the hot RAM trucks. I've never hated the RAM trucks even while RAM trucks were still under the Dodge name. Today's RAM trucks remain every bit as imposing as when the lovely style of the 2003-type Dodge Ram was unveiled.

• Jeep (visited later)
I didn't really pay attention to Jeep until I was done with the rest of the show. When I did eventually make it to the Jeep section, I took a number of pictures of recent Jeep models. I felt very much like I had to take a picture of the Jeep Patriot. On its own stage was the lovely new Grand Cherokee. The stage was also shared by a beautiful model lady whom I usually see talk about Jeep models at the show. I got to meet her and show some respect to the well-dressed lady, immaculate in her brown dress and some hot-looking brown wedge sandals. Another hostess at the Jeep section was mostly decked out in caramel brown- caramel brown jacket, white top, and caramel brown boots tucked into caramel brown jeans. I complimented the woman's outfit and told her that I follow fashion. When she asked if I'm a fashionsta, I jokingly responded... "do I look like a fashionista?" A guy in a dark gray Starter jacket, some jeans, and some no-name brand sneakers doesn't really qualify as a fashionista.

That concludes my tour of duty among the Chrysler group.

Chapter 6: Toyota Through GMC.

One Japanese manufacturer followed by a trip through General Motors occupy this chapter of my experience.

• Toyota
Toyota was up next in my fantastic voyage around Reliant Center. The first machine I laid eyes on was a bluish silver 4Runner. I like its aggressive and clean appearance. I saw a white Toyota Tundra all chromed out and looking sweet. Later on, I would encounter a Toyota Rav4 in a red color. While I didn't really care about the FJ Cruiser, I sort of didn't want to take a picture but did anyways. I was trying to really take a quick picture of how the Toyota ladies dressed. Speaking of ladies... I chatted with the Toyota hostesses. I joked around about how I picked Toyota's ladies as the most beautiful hostesses at the 2011 Houston Auto Show. Their ruffled dresses along with tall boots from last year's show made them stand out beautifully among many of the show's other hostesses and models. I probably gave a huge giveaway when I asked who I picked as the loveliest models at last year's show... standing in the Toyota section! Afterwards, it was time for me to shut up and move on. :)

Two of Toyota's top-of-the-line SUVs would come into view later in my Toyota tour. It began with the Toyota Sequoia, which starts at just over $40K US Dollars. $68K US Dollars gets you Toyota's premier SUV for decades- the Land Cruiser. I do feel an air of importance being around the Land Cruiser. If I ever reach some sort of executive status and have a family of my own, I wouldn't mind a Land Cruiser to show my status and to comfortably go around Houston in.

The attention at Toyota went from trucks to cars as I saw a couple of Prii (plural of Prius), including one on a turntable. I saw a more aggressive Yaris on the floor as well. It didn't look as cute (and handsome) as the current model. Still, this newer Yaris hit puberty and looks mean without overdoing it. The Camry was in full effect as a regular model, as a Pace Car for the 2012 Daytona 500, and as the Camry S on a turntable.

• Chevrolet
It was now time to visit GM. I began by seeing three versions of the Chevrolet Sonic. The Sonic is the Aveo's replacement. Key for Chevrolet was in having a solid American-made compact to take on other compacts both domestic and foreign. At first, I thought the Sonic looked a bit like a Mitsubishi up front. Thing is, it ain't no Mitsubishi (I know, don't use double negatives). A later Sonic I saw was the Sonic RS on a turntable. I was told the Sonic RS had things like a peppy turbo engine and a six-speed manual transmission. Meaning this is a man of a compact. The Chevrolet Cruze is nothing new to Europe. To us in the United States, it's fairly new. Here is a very nice car replacing the Cobalt (I think it's a Cobalt replacement). On a turntable was the 2013 Malibu. The Malibu looked a bit more aggressive than the beautiful current Malibu. FUN FACT- my very first "Car Style" blog post was on the Chevrolet Malibu. I saw the Chevrolet Volt in red and in silver. It was here where a beautiful lady noted me snapping pictures. This lady, who admittedly noted as not being photogenic, was a very pretty young lady who was also friendly. She was dressed nicely too- a classy (but not edgy) leather jacket, dark gray blouse, slate gray pants, and some nice boots or shoes. I later saw the Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 in a nice sunset orange color. It's one of the meanest Corvettes today. I felt pretty sad not to get pictures of the Camaro in my run.

The experience went from cars to trucks as I saw a handful of Silverado and Colorado models. I even noted a very nice Texas Edition Silverado all chromed out. Before I left for Cadillac, I saw the lovely Chevy Traverse and snapped a picture.

I later returned to the Chevy section and saw the same pretty lady from earlier. I noted that I was a blogger and a YouTube video maker. So I introduced "John's Blog Space" to her. And since she was so kind, I added my special signature. After all, cool people have special signatures and signs.

• Cadillac
Honestly, I've never cared for Cadillac. I have also never cared for the Escalade. So I still took a picture regardless. One Caddy I did have interest in was the all-new ATS. The ATS is to be Cadillac's new entry-level car. I'm hearing it has three different engine options giving horsepower numbers between 200 and 275. It also has rear-wheel drive along with an all-wheel drive option. Also on the floor were various CTS model Cadillacs including the CTS-V.

Buick was up next with some beautiful cars. It used to be that you would be laughed at if you drive a Buick. Not so much these days. Buicks were boringly-designed cars in the past. Today, however, Buick makes some absolutely gorgeous machines. I first laid eyes on the angelic Lacrosse followed by a seeing a Buick Verano on a turntable. Not to be outdone, I laid eyes on the nice-looking Enclave. The real stunners for me were both Regals- a regular Regal followed by a Regal GS on a turntable. My goodness- BEAUTIFUL cars!

• GMC (visited later)
The reason why I didn't mention GMC previously is because I didn't really pick up on any GMC models. I was able to snap a picture of the beautiful new Sierra models. I didn't really go through the GMC area much. I didn't really take note until after I was done visiting every other section.

I now was out to visit three different automakers from three different countries.

Chapter 7: Hyundai Through Volkswagen.

Three nationalities of car are represented in this chapter, and it began with Korea's Hyundai brand.

• Hyundai
My three picks for most gorgeous Korean cars ever made are all from Hyundai. One of those gorgeous Hyundais, however, wasn't at the 2012 Houston Auto Show- the 2013 Hyundai Genesis Coupe. One of the other three was definitely in the house- the 2011 Hyundai Elantra. The Elantra was in red along with a blue Elantra Touring model. While the 2013 Genesis Coupe didn't show up, the current Genesis Coupe was there along with the Genesis Sedan. I saw the new Veloster both on a turntable and among the regular cars. I personally think the Veloster could have been styled more like the Elantra or Sonata. Still, it's not bad. A new experience came to me- I got to see the Hyundai Equus. The Equus is to be Hyundai's executive-level answer to offerings from the likes of BMW and Audi and other high-end luxury cars. I sometimes tend to confuse the Equus with the Genesis Sedan. I still do, in fact! I made sure to also snap a few pictures of a charity-driven Santa Fe as well as the lovely Hyundai Tuscon.

• Honda
It was on to Honda after playing around with the lovely Korean offerings from Hyundai. I was going from a Korean make to a Japanese make. The Honda CR-V of old was truly ugly to me. The newer CR-V model looks much better to my eyes than the previous model ever did. Not gorgeous, but a step in the right direction. The Odyssey looked very sharp with a bold grill and sharp headlights. I later saw a very plain-looking Civic that I snapped anyways. That was followed up by seeing Honda's Ridgeline pickup truck. Love it or loathe it, the Ridgeline is still going strong, thank you very much. About this time ten years ago, the Civic was hailed as a peppy tuner car that could take on some of the better offerings from other car companies. With tuner culture almost or near dead these days, I was somewhat reminded of the Civic's underdog status when I saw the i-Vtec Civic Si on a stand. The CR-Z came to my attention later in my Honda journey. I couldn't get a real good picture of it since it was in black. What is called the City and the Jazz in other countries is what we call the Fit. I saw this lovely compact on the show floor among the other Honda models. I think the Accord Crosstour is a rather ugly machine. I still took pictures of it, though. I left the Honda section after taking a picture of the latest Honda Pilot. The newer Pilot looks very nice. All I can do now is just move on.

• Volkswagen
This chapter concludes with a trip to the Volkswagen section. I started off seeing the lovely Touareg. To its right was the Tiguan. The Tiguan is the lower-level offering of the Touareg. In case you didn't know, Tiguan is a combination of "tiger" and "iguana." The Volkswagen Passat CC was the first car I laid eyes on at the VW section, and it was the usual gorgeous machine that it is. The Eos is a VW I rarely see. On the show floor, I saw the Eos Lux among the crowd of VW models. The latest Passat was also featured with its immensely appealing looks. Golf fans had to be pleased to see the über cool Volkswagen Golf GTI. I saw one in a slate gray color with the red outlining around the grill. In black, I saw the new New Beetle. The previous New Beetle got a bad rap for looking so girly and cute. This one is surely manly with its elongated wheelbase and tougher appearance. It is almost like a modern interpretation of the classic Beetle- even more so with this one compared to the previous New Beetle. I saw the newer Jetta as well, sort of thinking about the VW Jetta TDI Cup all the while. I didn't leave the VW area until I saw the lovely Routan van.

Another big block of cars awaits. Thanks for reading this chapter!

Chapter 8: Scion Through Subaru.

Six car companies of varying nationalities are included in this chapter. Feel the diversity... starting with Scion!

• Scion
What the hell happened to Scion (pardon my language)? Scion sucked HARD this year. They are usually the must-visit section at the Houston Auto Show with great music playing and lots of cool stuff to pick up. Hate to say it, but the usually hard Scion went soft this year. There were NO CDs to pick up. Instead, you can download songs from their 40-CD lineup from the Scion website. The Scion hosts were the most uniquely dressed last year, wearing military-inspired garb including dog tags. This time, it was mostly a lady in a nice dress and some furry boots. I saw the xD and snapped a picture of it. I was finally saw the Scion iQ. And man- that car is TINY! Good luck trying to fit inside this car if you're big and/or tall. Shorter people should have no problem with this car. The real saving grace for the Scion lot was in seeing the FR-S concept car. It was great seeing the concept up close and in person.

• Mini
Despite the disappointing Scion section, I had to move on. So I moved on to Mini. Ever since the revival of Mini, I've always loved their products. Two notable Minis I laid eyes on were both of the John Cooper Works variety. The first was a white J.C.W. Mini Cooper convertible with US Olympics livery on it. I later saw the very nice J.C.W. Mini Cooper coupe. I could actually see the Mini coupe do quite well in sales. Both are very cool machines, as one would expect.

• Nissan
Let's go to Nissan! The first car I laid eyes on was the amazingly affordable Nissan Versa. I then saw a car you don't hear mentioned much but still goes strong- the Nissan Sentra. I saw a cooler-looking Versa, but I then saw the Nissan Titan in its glory. The next car I noted is a machine that looks terrible to me- the Nissan Juke. Nissan probably even got bored and came up with the Juke R (which looks semi-decent but still ugly). The Juke R, though, was not at the show. I needed something more pleasing to my eyes to save me from the Juke. The answer was the 370Z. So I go from a horrid-looking SUV to a sweet sports car. The ever-fascinating Nissan Leaf was also available for viewing. I always wonder if the Leaf could inspire more vehicles of its kind to be out on the road. Did you know that there is even a Leaf race car? Some series in Europe (or just the United Kingdom) features a Leaf race car. It almost looks like a remote control car and sounds very quiet. Seeing the Armada and Murano completed my Nissan tour.

• Kia
Kia Motors has come a long way. While Blake Griffin wasn't at the Houston Auto Show to dunk a basketball while jumping over a Kia, I did see some of Kia's latest offerings. I first saw the Kia Rondo in my visit to the Kia section. On a turntable was the cleanly-styled Kia Sorento. LMFAO wasn't playing their "Party Rock Anthem," but I did see the Kia Soul as well.

My attention turned to joking around with the hostesses when I visited the Kia stand. Both were beautiful. One of them was in a black bolero with a nice white shirt, black pants, a lovely pair of slingback closed-toe pumps. The other was a lovely older woman in a dark gray dress with a chic pair of peep-toe ankle boots. I was thinking the one in the gray dress was from England or someplace as I noted a British accent in her speaking. Of course, I'm always cool with meeting people from around the world.

It was then back to cars. I saw the sporty Kia Forte Koup in a very nice blue color. That was followed up by seeing the Kia Optima. Kia makes some very nice automobiles. I hope Kia can keep pace and even challenge Hyundai as far as Korean cars sold in the USA is concerned.

• Infiniti
Nissan's luxury arm is Infiniti. I have never really liked (but don't hate) Infiniti to be honest. The first Infiniti I snapped a picture of is the QX56. My mother loves the QX56, but not the latest one. I snapped one anyways. :) I saw a JX-series Infiniti model on a turntable in the Infiniti area and thought it was pretty nice looking. Recently, I've loved the G37. I saw one and quickly snapped a few pictures. There wasn't much for me afterwards, so I moved on to the next section...

• Subaru
...which was Subaru. I saw the newer Impreza and Legacy models. The new Subaru Impreza looks more like the Legacy. Perhaps not going to sit well with those who prefer the fire-breathing Impreza on the rally scene, but modest can still look very charming. The newer Impreza doesn't look that bad to me. Only thing that would have been cool if the Subaru BRZ (the Subaru version of the Scion FR-S) was on the show floor. I actually kind of like the Subaru BRZ's looks a little more than I do the Toyota GT86 or Scion FR-S.

The hostesses walking the area were rocking sort of a motorcycle girl look- leather moto jackets, a top underneath, and dark blue jeans tucked into riding boots. I guess their look was more like rally girls.

I left this section, but not without taking a quick picture of another Infiniti.

Chapter 9: Audi Through BMW.

My next chapter features loads of luxury charm. Are you ready to enjoy some luxury?

• Audi
Audi makes some beautiful automobiles. Their vehicles are classy with a great deal of charm and style. I knew I wasn't going to be disappointed coming to the Audi section. The first Audi I laid eyes on was an Audi A5 Cabriolet. As lovely as the Audi A5 was, a lovelier Audi was in my eyesight- the Audi A4. The latest A4 just has the right amount of style and charm to make it stand out. It is a beautifully-designed car. I came across one of the Audi ladies working the floor as I was about to see the Audi Q7. I chatted with her a bit and even talking about the Q7 and the Q5. I even talked about the Q3 that the United States will get later this year or next year. No doubt the most alluring goddess in the Audi area (except the pretty Audi lady I chatted with previously) was the Audi R8 Spyder. It was the same red Audi R8 I saw last year, but this one had the Audi Sportscar Experience decals on the sides. I later saw the TT Coupe and took a beauty shot of its headlights with the LED daytime running lights on. Another gorgeous Audi had its LED daytime running lights on as well- the Audi A6. I wrapped up my Audi tour by looking at the S4, the mean A7, and the top-level Audi A8.

• Land Rover and Range Rover
Land/Range Rover was next on the grocery list. The first Land Rover I came across was the Range Rover HSE Sport. This is my most-used machine in "Test Drive Unlimited 2." It is a total beast of an SUV. The real show-stopper for me was to see the Range Rover Evoque again. I saw the beautiful machine in white last year. This year, there was a dark blue one in a 2-door layout on its own stand and a pale green one in a 4-door layout. I noted the difference between the two Evoque models when I was talking to the guy at the Land Rover stand. The last one I took a picture of was the Land Rover LR4. I honestly wouldn't see myself owning or shopping for a Land Rover or a Range Rover. However, I probably wouldn't be disappointed with the Evoque.

• Jaguar
In the past, it used to be that Jaguars would find themselves at the body shops quite often. The classy automobiles from Jaguar exude both class and charm. Today's lineup is no different. I first saw the latest Jaguar XKR in white. I don't really like the latest XKR looks-wise (I prefer the XK's of the late 1990s and early 2000s in looks), but she's a beauty. So is the XJ, which I saw in its glorious beauty. It was the Jaguar XKR-S that really caught my eye. Painted in a rich sky blue color, this car does not disappoint at making you want it.

• BMW
The final manufacturer in this chapter is BMW. I started off by seeing the BMW 328i convertible. It came in a very nice navy blue color. The picture I took had the headlights blazing in a silvery blue color. I then turned my attention to another blue BMW- a BMW X5 M. I have always seen the X5 as a handsome SUV, and I'd pick this over the smaller X3 or the X1. The M5 luxury sedan was also at the show in another lovely blue color. The 135i was featured at the Houston Auto Show as well with its deep red color. What followed were about four different varieties of the 3 Series. I had to take a picture of one of them, just to showcase the new headlight style for future BMWs. I don't like them too much. Not to be outdone in my BMW tour, I saw the Z4 roadster in white. I later came across a nice-looking X3 in a cherry red color. The gracious 640i came into view for me as well with a nice white color. Finally, I saw a 7-Series BMW to complete my BMW tour.

After some luxury from these makes, it was time to wrap up my tour with one last block of car companies.

Chapter 10: Lexus Through Volvo.

The final remaining sections I didn't visit up to this point will be discussed.

• Lexus
LFA. No three letters could entice me to visit the Lexus section like LFA. The Lexus LFA was at the Houston Auto Show in a bright red color. I've seen the LFA at the Houston Auto Show before, but that one was a concept. This year brought the real LFA to the showroom floor. And my goodness- I was stunned seeing this supercar in person! After being stunned seeing the LFA, I had to see some... I don't know, much more affordable Lexus models? So I did just that. Not too many of them were of any real consideration for this post. One of the lovely ones was the Lexus IS-C, the convertible version of the mean IS-F. I came face-to-face with the CT 200h as well. The GX-series SUV I saw in the Lexus section was one of the first Lexus SUVs I like besides the RX series.

• Acura
While the NSX concept was not at the show, Acura's many classy automobiles were on the show floor. Acura doesn't really interest me to be honest. I am just not really into Acura, but I don't hate Acura. The two Acura models I took pictures of were the TL and the handsome TSX. The guy at the Acura stand asked if I've seen the Acura NSX concept video before. I told him that I saw a Gran Turismo 5 video featuring the concept. After a few seconds, I noticed it was EXACTLY the Gran Turismo 5 video I saw of the NSX concept. There was not really much more for me to see at Acura, so I moved on.

• Volvo
Safe is sexy. Usually known for their boxy vehicles, the Swedish make has designed some beautiful cars. One of those beautiful cars is the compact Volvo C30 that I remember from last year's show. The S60R is one of the hottest recent cars from Volvo. What a lovely machine! Also lovely was the Volvo XC60 I saw. That one was a front-wheel drive model. I had snapped pictures of some other Volvos, but I am not mentioning them because the names of those other Volvos fail my memory.

Everything else after the Volvo stand was simply me trying to visit some of the other stands while I still had time.

Epilogue...

To say the least, the 2012 Houston Auto Show featured some of the most amazing and most diverse amount of cars I have ever seen in my more than ten visits to the Houston Auto Show. I've seen everything from peppy compacts to concepts to race cars. That even included a Formula 1 race car for crying out loud! I thoroughly enjoyed myself at the 2012 Houston Auto Show. I don't believe in expectations, but if this year's show was any indication, I can only imagine what 2013's Houston Auto Show will bring! I hope to make it out to next year's show granted I'm alive and well and have the money and stuff to get admitted. What new cars will await at next year's Houston Auto Show? What experiences will await me at the 2013 show? I can only dream...

Thank you for reading my blog post!

--- The Ones That [Almost] Got Away! :) ---

But wait... there's more! Here are a few extra random things I want to share as part of my overall experience of HAS 2012.

Promoting my Blog; Chatting With Models.

• I mentioned my blog to a number of different stands. I gave some people the link to John's Blog Space at a few different stands. I usually say "you're not going to remember it" when mentioning my blog and YouTube channel. I was at the Mini section where I shown off the link to "John's Blog Space" on a piece of paper. I need to honestly make like Lil' Jon and step my game up and make some new "business cards" to promote my blog and YouTube channel. The pieces of paper I have show off my Myspace and Facebook pages. Myspace, for all intents and purposes, is dead unless you're talking Myspace Music. I'll need to make some to feature just my blog and my YouTube channel.

• My left arm took two friendly punches at the 2012 Houston Auto Show by two different ladies after complimenting on their looks. The first time was at the Audi area, and the other in the Chevrolet section. The girl at the Chevy stand was cool. She had a sweet voice and was friendly. I unfortunately didn't get to meet anyone who wasn't a host or a model at the show. Here's another sad fact- none of my friends have ever seen me at the Houston Auto Show. Then again, I am careful not to announce where I am at certain times. But back to the models and hostesses... it's always great to have models and representatives as beautiful as the cars they are representing. It pays to be sociable. Being a sweet talker has its advantages. :)

Fashionistas!

When it comes to females dressing up walking the floor (not models or hostesses), this was the most common look among most of the females at the Houston Auto Show:

• a fashionable top or coat/jacket
• denim jeans tucked into boots

Also, it seems like some of the women who were walking around are dressed in a very appealing way. I guess if you're going to check out some cars, it's best to look hot while doing it! One woman I saw sported a hot pair of white jeans with black platform pumps that had red soles (I doubt they were really Louboutins). One woman I saw was in a little black dress with some indigo high-heel pumps. My best guess is that some ladies are going to head to a party or something, so some ladies dress like hotties to prepare for a great night out.

I'm actually used to this because I once saw some lady at a previous Houston Auto Show wearing some clear high-heel sandals with maribou trim on them. Very exotic dancer like shoes one wore. So I often wonder if some of these ladies are actually dressing hot for the Houston Auto Show when they are really getting ready for a party or something.

A Feast Fit for a Blogger/YouTuber.

I didn't eat anything but breakfast that Saturday, so I needed something filling to prevent myself from continually wondering what to actually eat. I had planned on having me something to eat after I was done with my walking around the show floor. Leave it to the lovely folks in Reliant Center to offer a great product. I ordered a chicken tender basket. Afterwards, I thought about getting a bottle of soda. Since I didn't want to do any more walking (though I wasn't tired), I decided to get a fountain drink instead. I picked up two packs of barbeque sauce as well as a medium Coca-Cola Zero (never had a Coke Zero before). The whole thing (all $13.50 US Dollars) was filling. I had the chicken tender basket and some fries. I didn't eat too many of the fries. All I cared about was the chicken tenders.

Thank you for reading my extras segment! ^_^

I mentioned both cars and my experiences in this blog post. So my next post will involve a look at some of the ladies at the show. I am not sure if I'll be able to do any detailed pictures or not. I tried to do everything secretively. And of course, anyone I do feature in pictures will be blocked out to protect privacy.

(ADDED: January 31, 2012) Actually, I may or may not do one post on the Houston Auto Show's women this year. Stay tuned to John's Blog Space to see if I do indeed make a post regarding the ladies who walked the showroom floor and all.

Luxurious Lifestyle

(UPDATED: February 25, 2012)

The luxurious lifestyle is what many of us can only dream of. What would you do with lots of money? You may know your mansions. You may know your cars. You may even somehow know your boats, yachts, jets, and things like that. Through many environments and such, we are all introduced to lives and lifestyles much greater than what many of us are living in right now. We even dream of being rich and famous. You know- being at the biggest parties, shopping for expensive things, driving the most exclusive cars... basically rubbing in the faces of low-class and middle-class people with your wealth. This blog post is a Just For Fun deal regarding the high-end lifestyle.

NOTE: All of the following items are provided for entertainment and educational purposes.

About The Label: Luxurious Lifestyles

"Luxurious Lifestyles" is a blog label pertaining to topics related to wealth and high-end living. Topics mentioned include something which most common folk would be unable to own, experience, or enjoy unless seriously rich.

About the Label: Aircraft and Aviation

The "Aircraft and Aviation" blog label features topics related to aircraft and aviation. These can be about planes, flying, and things of that nature.

About the Label: Water and Watercraft

To discuss topics related to water and of various kinds of water sports, watercraft, and more; the "Water and Watercraft" blog label features topics related to these items and more. Mariners, ranging from hobbyists to those devoted to being at sea, will likely enjoy this blog label and the various topics I hope to discuss.

--- Luxurious Lifestyle: Flaunting Luxury ---

Where have you seen the rich show off their wealth? You may have seen a number of things on TV, online, in games, and more. So here are a few examples of where you may have seen people flaunt their wealth:

Hip-Hop Artists.

Name me certain hip-hop artists where you have seen them drive high-end cars. You may have seen videos of hip-hop artists driving cars you likely can't afford. Sometimes even rapping about them. You know- hot girls, hot cars, things like that.

MTV's "My Super Sweet Sixteen" and "Exiled."

"My Super Sweet Sixteen" and the one-off "Exiled" showcased teenagers and the rich lifestyles they enjoy. If you've ever seen these shows, you'll know what the young generation of rich is all about. If a 16-year old girl wants her own Lexus IS-F (especially in this show), she WANTS an Lexus IS-F even if she throws a hissy fit to get one. "Exiled" was a show where those spoiled teens who needed a dose of reality were sent to less glamourous places to take part in experiencing the life of the... not so rich. To read more on this show that I blogged about, check out "Issues Regarding My Super Sweet 16."

MTV's "Cribs" Series.

"Cribs," more than any other MTV show, is one of the premier examples of showcasing rich people. This series of shows highlights on the homes of celebrities. Some of these houses and mansions have stuff like... their own basketball courts, their own gyms, multi-car garages with several six-figure priced cars, lavish kitchens, beautiful master bedrooms, and stuff like that. Watching "Cribs" just makes you feel jealous that you can't be living like them!

Certain Celebrities.

You may hear of celebrities of many kinds having things many others who'll blow their money on various items. Why? Because they can.

Glamourous Locales.

The place that comes to mind for me (as a racing fan) is Monte Carlo. When you see the fancy buildings and all the boats in the various marinas, you're playing in money country. Some places really have people and buildings that just scream big money. I even think of Middle Eastern cities like Dubai, United Arab Emirates and Doha, Qatar that are essentially playgrounds for the rich.

The duPONT Registry.

If you ever flip through the pages of The duPONT Registry, you may see all kinds of dream items you wish you had. I blogged about this Florida-based publication once, noting that what you see and read are nothing short of impressive. Just the fact you can actually OWN this stuff if you had the money is just surreal.

Video Games.

If you can't live the luxurious lifestyle in reality, there's always virtual reality. The "Test Drive Unlimited" series is one that easily comes to mind. You may probably live on Oahu Island or Ibiza, but do you have high-end sports cars to drive and beautiful houses most people can only dream of owning? What about the "Need for Speed" games, where you drive some of the most exclusive cars in anger around city streets and race tracks? There are even various social networking and avatar games dedicated to the rich lifestyle (or with rich elements).

"Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous."

If you're old enough to remember, you may remember a very old show hosted by Robin Leach called "Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous." This famous show highlights on people whom are living richly and famously. The featured persons are profiled in these segments on the show. In this day and age, I'd like to imagine what it would be like if some of today's rich were profiled. Some of the rich ones you commonly hear of today are Donald Trump, Bill Gates, and of course... Paris Hilton.

Can you name any other rich influences? I only named a few just to kick this blog post off.

--- Luxurious Lifestyle: Getting There ---

And I quote:

"If you ain't got no money, take your broke ass home!"

-"Glamourous," by Fergie featuring Ludacris
To reach high-end life, one has to reach that level of high-end living. You basically have to establish yourself as royalty. Have you yet reached an executive level where you are basically tops among everybody else? Are you someone who is just discontent with being "normal" or having a "normal" lifestyle?

Those who pursue an executive-style lifestyle will have to work for it. Being atop your profession and your craft is what we all wish we can do. Status comes with wealth. In no way am I a Business major or anything. Heck, I'm a blogger whose only income is Adsense checks and Amazon Associates revenue, and I'm even fortunate enough if I make ANYTHING. Being atop blogging as a profession means I have to establish myself so much to where I can make a decent living. You may be from a rich family or even inherit a lot of the wealth from a wealthy family. Still, you've got to earn everything you'll ever work for.

You may also just inherit lots of money from your family or whatever. It still takes a lot of work to maintain and expand upon that wealth.

--- Luxurious Lifestyle: Homes ---

Most of what I will make mention to involve mansions, but this can be about any luxurious house.

luxury mansion
^ from: www.mymansion.com.au - If a man's home is his castle, having a mansion surely makes you king. And of course... a woman's home is her castle, making her queen.

Have you the desire to live in lovely digs to live in? Mansions are a great way to enjoy living in style. Some mansions even allow for facilities most homes wish they had access to in the same house. You remember I made mention to MTV's "Cribs" series? Some of the houses and mansions I've seen featured on Cribs are just crazy. Can you imagine having your own gym and pool and such in your mansion? You don't even need to go to the gym- you can work out at home in style!

Also, one would have to think about how to furnish such mansions. You don't necessarily have to think of IKEA or something. If you obviously have a lot of money to furnish it with almost anything, items ranging from high-definition TVs to the most lavish chairs and sofas will easily fill most luxurious homes. Some luxurious homes (especially very modern and contemporary ones) feature great architecture befitting of such urban homes.

The location of luxurious homes and apartments also plays to their appeal. Is a luxurious home situated atop a hill? Is it near a major body of water? Is it within distance of downtown or even overlooking downtown? In addition, where in the world it is located also plays to its appeal. Is it a Southern home that's part of a plantation? Is it an urban locale in a major American city (like a fancy home in or around New York City)? Is it a contemporary home in Europe? This would all depend on your tastes in what kind of luxurious home you'd want to have.

Bedrooms.

The master bedroom of most regular homes are more like regular rooms in most mansions, and the real master bedroom may even be double to triple in size of a master bedroom.

Closets.

"I like my money right where I can see it... hanging in my closet."

-Carrie Bradshaw of "Sex and the City"
walk-in closet
^ from: seasonalhomedecoration.com - Walk-in closets can be very luxurious and inviting, especially for those who have lots of clothes or a vast wardrobe.

Especially if you're one of my female readers, what fashion-loving girl wouldn't want a walk-through closet filled with great clothes? You can proudly show off your shoes and your clothes to guests or just admire your collection. There are those who have walk-in closets. Even some regular size houses and apartments may have such big closets.

Mansion Video.

Want to see a video of a mansion? Check this out:

This video above was uploaded in 2009 and was Donald Trump's $125M US dollar mansion in Palm Beach, Florida, USA.

How Would I Live?

I don't know if Houston would be good enough to have a great mansion of my own in. Here in Houston, we have two real expensive parts of town- the Houston Galleria and River Oaks. I draw inspiration from certain other mansions and what I would want in a mansion. One mansion I saw playing "Test Drive Unlimited 2" had both a living room and a garage that had waterfalls to them. I would like to have some lovely waterfalls running for a relaxing touch. I would really want a room to showcase certain automotive and racing related memorabilia. I may even want to start my own model car collection and have my finest models showcased. My own personal gym would be nice as well. I even wouldn't mind having my own indoor basketball court to have fun shooting hoops in. Maybe I invite a few friends over (or guests) to play a little basketball. I even wouldn't mind a good game room to play arcade units I would buy as well as some pool tables. As for a garage, maybe a good 4-car or 6-car garage would be sweet.

I don't believe in being serviced by others or hiring others to serve me. I'm a human being, not a king or some deity. Some people who think of living fabulously would feel like other people have to do things for them to further enjoy being very rich. I'm not like that. Honest!

You will have to get in touch with luxury home brokers if you want to even buy a luxurious home. Or if you're good enough and patient enough, build your own mansion. The duPONT Registry also specializes in showcasing luxurious homes. To get an idea for luxurious homes featured in the duPONT Registry, I invite you to check out the duPONT Registry's Homes page.

--- Luxurious Lifestyle: Automobiles ---

This section is more like my specialty. Best to have a great car to drive if you're flaunting your luxurious lifestyle. You probably know your cars for if you want to have a luxurious lifestyle. You probably know your car companies that specialize in luxury cars or have luxurious cars to own.

Depending on who you ask, some either care for luxurious cars, and some others would rather drive a... not-so-luxurious car. Executive-class people often showcase their status with executive-type cars. Therefore, a 1998 Ford Taurus isn't likely an executive car of choice. Something like a BMW M5 or an Audi A8 would be much more appealing. One may even look for an older luxury car like a 1990s Bentley Arnage. I think I remember Paris Hilton having a customized pink Bentley Continental GT that would make Barbie jealous. Those who have a LOT of money would even get something like a Bugatti Veyron.

What Would I Drive?

Time to put myself on the spot again. If you ask me, I'd prefer something that is a mix of luxury with that right amount of sportiness. So therefore, I would love to own an Aston Martin to be my high-end luxury car company. I'd probably have an Aston Marin DB9 or an Aston Martin Vanquish V12.

If I prefer an executive sedan, however, I'd have a good deal of options. I'm thinking if I want to have an executive sedan, I want to have an executive sedan that has great power and is very inviting. I really wouldn't consider executive sedans unless I wanted to drive around more people. You know, more like if I was married and had children that I wanted to cruise in style with. This would require a good vehicle that could handle and balance the responsibilities of being a capable executive-class car while also hauling around family and groceries.

If I wanted an executive-type car that didn't have an executive price tag, simple- Chrysler 300 with a Hemi. Part of the 300's charm was that it looked much more expensive than it really is. In fact, some people thought of (especially the very first 300) as a poor-man's Bentley. That, and the fact it is a premium rear-wheel drive sedan.

If you watch a lot of YouTube videos and love cars, you'll find no shortage of exotic automobiles if you check out BrianZuk. To see some of the finest automobiles ever made in YouTube videos, check out BrianZuk's YouTube channel.

I know the duPONT Registry best for automobiles. So to get an idea of luxury-type automobiles and some of the finest automobiles (and even motorcycles) ever made, check out the duPONT Registry's Automobile registry.

--- Luxurious Lifestyle: Yachts and Other Boats ---

When playing "Test Drive Unlimited 2," the fact that you could buy a yacht to live in is proof that you can enjoy the luxurious lifestyle even at sea. You don't actually get to control the yacht, though. Most luxury boats allow you to enjoy life at sea in style. They can range from lovely (essentially) homes on water to luxurious boats good enough to have parties on.

I began thinking about yachts thinking about something I "like" on Facebook. One of motorsport.com's lovely grid girls is Nicole Haboush, nicknamed as the "Cute Grid Girl." She is a VERY cute grid girl in my opinion! Besides being one of the cutest grid girls in the United States (or anywhere in the world), Nicole is also the President of Allied Yacht Charters, based in in Palm Beach, Florida, USA. So this was the first person I thought of in regards to yachting. That, and just the fact I wanted to make a shout-out to Nicole if she happens to read this blog post. :) I've also featured her in my "Grid Girls" blog post.

Why would you want a luxurious boat? If you're out on the water a lot, why not have a boat that you can enjoy living on water with? I have seen yachts before many times. I sometimes often see these yachts with a party going on. Considering what you can do on a yacht and what parties you can have, this can be a great way to enjoy life at sea. Yachts are more like floatable mansions where you can enjoy life at sea much the same way you can enjoy life in a mansion. You may even enjoy things like wine, champagne, a jacuzzi, a lavish kitchen, and things like that... even at sea! A yacht is essentially a floatable mansion. Some of the loveliest yachts can be just as beautiful as almost any high-end house or mansion.

Yacht Videos.

Get ready for some videos of yachts. This is just to show how lovely yachts can be. I got to warn you that these videos may not be good for your health. Why? It's because your jaw might drop after seeing some of these stunning yachts. :) So have a look, if you're interested...

Here is a look at how lovely yachts can be:

Even though this video is not in English, you have GOT to see this! Trust me, you'll fall in love with this yacht:

Here is one more yacht video for you all:

Told you these were stunning and luxurious boats. Did you like the videos? I'd like to thank the YouTube channels I got these videos from for allowing me to embed them in this blog post.

--- Luxurious Lifestyle: Aircraft ---

Take to the skies with your wealth. There are those who have their own luxury aircraft. Some of the various kinds of luxury aircraft include private jets. If you are a fan of Far East Movement, you may have heard their hit song, "Like a G6." Well at first, I thought it was about the crappy-looking Pontiac G6. But, it's a reference to the Gulfstream G650. The Gulfstream G650 is an example of luxury-type aircraft.

Want to know what it's like on a private jet? Check this out (it was honestly the best video I could find):

What if you're into other luxurious aircraft? The only one I am most familiar with is the Airbus A380. I think this is the aircraft used by airlines like Qatar Airways and Qantas among others. I actually tried to find a video to showcase other kinds of luxurious aircraft, but I have failed to find a worthy video. Maybe I'll update in a future edit.

--- Luxurious Lifestyle: Fashion ---

NOTE: What you're about to read is somewhat part of a blog post idea I once had and may consider for a future post on "John's Blog Space."

Finally, a look at luxury fashion. Many people who usually can't afford high-end designers often try to snag haute couture for a steal. Not many will have the money on hand when shopping at stores like Neiman Marcus or Saks Fifth Avenue. This section is just a quick digest on luxurious fashion for men, and it was not really intended to be a detailed post on this topic.

Luxurious Fashion for Men.

You know there are men out there reluctant to rock their Gucci sunglasses, Versace suits, and stuff like that. I do like a dapper dude. Some classy guys will proudly wear Armani suits. Around home, some men even enjoy wearing high-end designer robes.

Luxurious Fashion for Women.

At least 75% of all of my blog posts have pertained to feminine fashion. Therefore, some of the many luxury names have been those you may be familiar with. There are fashion blogs I often follow featuring items from high-end designers. You know... Louboutin heels, Chanel bags, 7 for All Mankind jeans, Prada shoes (for women), almost anything Dior, and things like that. Most of what some females look for are often sold at high-end dealers and outlet malls.

Luxurious Fashion for Children.

Yes- even children (babies and kids) can have high-end style! Don't believe me? Try looking up certain high-end designers who have fashions for children, like Ralph Lauren. You'd be surprised that even kids can be high fashion. The one thing I would question is... as playful as kids can be, who wants to soil high-end casual fashions for kids (unless you're reluctant to wash these clothes often)?

Just being able to wear clothes from high-end designers and luxury designers is enough to make anyone feel like luxury. And again- I may use some of the points in this topic to be featured in a future blog post going into a bit more detail. If you read my blog post called "Preppy Fashion," I make mention to a good deal of high-end and preppy designers. Preppy fashion is actually mostly predicated on classy upscale fashions. Looking rich without actually being rich.

IN CASE YOU'RE INTERESTED: Read my blog post "Scrimp or Splurge?" for a look at low-end fashions vs. high-end fashions.

--- Luxurious Lifestyle: Final Thoughts ---

This blog post was more a Just for Fun deal, but of course, expressed in a professional way. The one thing that really mystifies me is just how people share and express their wealth. It is also astounding just what money can buy- especially those with LOTS of money. When you reach that executive level (or something similar to the top of your profession), you've basically shown people that you made it. You tend to show people that what you've worked for all paid off in the end with a lifestyle many people only wish they had.

Many people are even fortunate if they win the lottery. Imagine having lots of money and a good way to spend and invest all that money. It's the classic question of what would you do if you found $1M USD. I know what winning the lottery is like because my family once won the lottery. However, making and inheriting lots of money is one thing; maintaining it and living happily is another. Do you flaunt your wealth around with fancy wares, or do you hold on to whatever necessities you need? It's your call and your money.

This blog post was rich with content, and I hope I've infused a wealth of information (and good reading) for all of you! Was I on the money with the luxurious lifestyle? My 2011 Houston Auto Show Experience - Experiences

(Last Update: January 31, 2011 - edited Mercedes-Benz info, added external links)

Cars, people, and memories... there is nothing like going to the Houston Auto Show. It is a time of year where I can communicate with others and have fun. I always want to enjoy this experience as much as I can. I will be here to share some or all of my memories from this year's Houston Auto Show.

I had initially intended to compile all or most of my material in one blog post. However, I will break them up into individual categories.

A Special Hello...

If any readers are any of the people representing the car companies at Houston Auto Show 2011 (such as the people who do the announcements and introductions of cars) or of anyone representing the Houston Auto Show itself, I say hello to you. Welcome to my blog!

--- Houston Auto Show at a Glance ---
The Houston Auto Show has been around since 1983, and has been held at the Reliant Center since 2002. It is a show where Houstonians and those in Houston can check out some of the world's cars right before their eyes. It is also a marketplace where many prospective buyers of cars look to gain more information about any cars offered on the floor. Many cars imaginable are offered for viewing and even to sit in. Concept cars and special cars are offered on stands. Some of which, are accompanied by hosts and hostesses who talk more about the given cars. There is also a classic car section featuring some of the most beautiful classic cars in their own section.

While the Houston Auto Show is about today's cars, it is also a place where people can purchase various other items from the floor. Certain other local businesses and such offer up many car-related and non car-related items. Even certain groups and dealers showcase their material for others to buy. This, then, is a something-for-everyone event that brings many people together to check out various things.

The Houston Auto Show is like Houston itself- it is not in any way purely glamourous. There may be cars making Texas debuts, but this is no international-type auto show. It is nowhere in importance and appeal like the Los Angeles International Auto Show, New York International Auto Show, the North American International Auto Show, or anything like that. It is, however, OUR auto show. It is our link to the automotive world. It is our link to cars from America, across Europe, and across Asia. So this is OUR auto show though it isn't as glamorous as any of the real international auto shows.

--- What You Will Find in my 2011 Houston Auto Show Blog Posts ---
This is a look at what my blog posts will entail:

* Cars - I talk about some of the many cars I've seen on the showroom floor.
* Experiences - I talk about what all I was doing while going around Reliant Center.
* Fashion - This is about fashion for the certain hostesses as well as some of the other show-goers.

This one pertains to experiences, so let's get started!

--- Houston Auto Show 2011: Experiences ---
Houston Auto Show Experience
^ The 2011 Houston Auto Show has its own fair share of memories for me. As a preview, get ready for a LOT of reading! (from my Facebook photo gallery on the 2011 Houston Auto Show)

Me and my family pulled up into Reliant Center for yet another Houston Auto Show. I noticed there were a bunch of cheerleaders walking outside. Reason why was because there was a cheerleading competition. With all due respect, today for me was all about cars. Cars and communicating with others was what it was all about for me on Saturday. Each section is marked by headings for easier gathering of thoughts.

The Beginning of a Long Day...

I went into Reliant Center facing the Chevrolet section. My journey started at Ford. I saw a Ford Mustang pool table that served as my first picture-taking opportunity. This pool table is styled like a 1960s Mustang. It was VERY cool. What WASN'T cool, however, was trying to get through all the crowds in the Ford section. I got frustrated trying to take pictures of certain cars and just moved on to Chevrolet. The frustration would be agitated a bit more trying to get through crowds (I'm trying to avoid saying "fight through crowds") of people. HAS 2011 was NOT going good for me early on.

A Houston Auto Show Resolution.

If there is one thing I am going to avoid doing at the Houston Auto Show, it's try to record video. It's near impossible trying to get a quality video while on the show floor. I did attempt to showcase a few cars in video. The only one I did, however, was a so-so video look around the Ford Fiesta.

I broke away from seeking cars to go find a bag to put my SWAG in. I usually go to the Toyota lot, but I went to the Hyundai stand for a durable tote. To be honest, I think EVERY car maker at the Houston Auto Show that offers bags should offer these reusable and durable bags. They carry a lot of stuff and are very durable. MORE companies at HAS should have these bags.

Back to Work...

A lady from Ford named Tiffany was talking about the 2012 Ford Focus. I was in awe of the 2012 Ford Focus' loveliness as the lovely Tiffany was talking about it. The new Focus looks worlds better than the current Focus, so one can say that this car was lovelier by leaps and bounds over its previous model. This is a car I will be pleased to see on the road when it's released proper. I saw a Ford Transit Connect and took a picture of that machine.

A Touch of Luxury.

I went over to Land Rover when a handsome bloke was on a stand- the Range Rover Evoque. This car-like SUV is perhaps the most beautiful Range Rover of all time. It was okay to stare at this handsome gentleman. The headlights and tail lights were both low and wide. This is the kind of machine that the handsome and sporty types can drive on the roads and look good doing it. That is... as long as you stay away from the wrong parts of town.

Entering the Jaguar section, I grew some new fondness of the Jaguar XJ as I saw the Jaguar XJ L. The big design cue I've seen for the first time was the LED daytime running lights. I'm used to seeing these on recent Audis, but these look fantastic on the XJ L. I even wondered if the "L" stood for "lustful" as I gazed on this Navy Blue Jag. Not to be outdone was the Jaguar XK convertible that I saw. I left the Jaguar section after seeing a very nice XF.

Lincoln has come a long way. Their cars have never been lovelier. The MKS caught my eye with its gracious and charming character. I fell in love with its lovely looks. It is charming up front and from the rear. Also lovely was the MKZ on its own stand. It has some aggression to it, especially at the rear. The MKZ is a stylish sedan with the same gracious style as the MKS. On another stand was the MKX in all of its hulking charm. To end my Lincoln tour, I saw the lovely newer Navigator.

Specialty Specialization.

I took a break away from the manufacturers themselves to get a peek at the specialty sections. I hope I never have to experience being bound to a wheelchair (even if for the rest of my life), but I visited the ADA, Inc. section. ADA stands for Adaptive Driving Access, a Houston-based company supplying independent mobility vehicles. These are machines that allow access for wheelchair-bound people to be able to enter (and even operate) vehicles. Two other terms I've heard for these vehicles are handicapped-access and barrier-free vehicles. I even got into a Honda Odyssey with a ramp for wheelchair-bound people. The entire second row is gone in favor of one big section made for wheelchair access. The most surprising of these machines was a big GMC truck modified for wheelchair access. I left the ADA section becoming a bit more interested and enthused about seeing these machines being made available for such people. Want to learn more about ADA? Please visit www.adaptivedriving.com for more information on Adaptive Driving Access, with dealers in Houston and Pasadena.

I then walked around to see some of the various extra businesses located. These were car-related and non-car businesses. For example, some companies offered everything from aftermarket wheels to certain health and fitness products. The highlight of my time around this part of the Houston Auto Show was when I visited this section offering the Power Balance bracelets. I could appreciate the lady showing me these bracelets as she was wearing a throwback Houston Rockets T-shirt. I was pretty interested in how these Power Balance bracelets work. It was very cool.

The REAL highlight was seeing classic cars. My goodness, people. There is NOTHING like seeing lovely classic cars. My jaw dropped when I saw a beautiful C1 Corvette convertible in black. Black with white and a smattering of chrome. It was GORGEOUS! Equally gorgeous was the C3 Corvette to its left. It was in some burgundy color. Up next in my classic stroll was a beautiful yellow 1970 Plymouth Barracuda. This 'cuda had a Hemi. Boy... it was SWEET! I then saw a 1956 Buick Roadmaster convertible. It had this white and salmon color. It was gloriously beautiful. In my opinion, ONLY Buicks should have those vents on the side around the engine area. Then for the first-time, I saw an AMC Gremlin up close. To its right was a lovely AMC Javelin. There is NOTHING like seeing muscle cars to me.

I learned that Houston Raceway Park in Baytown is now officially known as Royal Purple Raceway. I learned this as I visited the stands there. I walked away from there to see a few

My ONLY regret in this section: I did NOT get to see Heidi Van Horne, nor did I even find the In Motion booth. I hated to not be able to see the beautiful pin-up hottie.

Benz Beauties.

That would be Mercedes-Benz, of course. There weren't too many Mercedes-Benz models I was in love with (though I am a Benz lover). The Mercedes-Benz section was really represented by Alex Rodriguez Mercedes-Benz here in the Houston area. Now, this is NOT the same Alex Rodriguez of New York Yankees fame. I took a picture of the GL450 SUV from Mercedes-Benz along with a picture of the lovely E350 sedan. The last Mercedes-Benz highlight was that I stepped into a big commercial van. It was surely made for 6-foot tall people like me. I could walk in the back and not have to duck my head. Epic win, player! :) Too bad my knees and feet were feeling weak as I was stepping down from the back of it... :(

[UPDATE: JAN 31 2011] I did NOT know that the Alex Rodriguez I spoke of and the Alex Rodriguez M-B dealership are of the same guy. Thanks to a loyal reader, I included this edit. You know, I even wanted to ask if the A-Rod of Mercedes-Benz was the same New York Yankee A-Rod, but I never asked (and I was always curious anyways).

You can visit the Alex Rodriguez Mercedes-Benz dealership online at the Alex Rodriguez Mercedes-Benz home page.

People, you need to comment on things. It provides more involvement for my blog. Thanks to everyone who contributes to my work!

Got to Step it Up!

It's time to head back to the Specialty-type lots.

Star Motor Cars was in the house as Lotus and Aston Martin models were shown off. The Lotus contingent was represented with the Evora, the Elise R, and a beastly Exige. I couldn't get the Evora in a picture because I couldn't find a good angle to take a picture from. The Aston Martin cars were prim and proper themselves. I blogged in "Car Style" once about the Aston Martin Rapide. That baby was sweet, and I saw it in the flesh at HAS 2011. It was in a beautiful dark blue color. I usually prefer British Racing Green Aston Martins, but dark blue was very lovely.

I walked around to another section where I saw a BEAUTIFUL old Ford truck representing AAA Insurance. It was painted kind of like a candy bar- it was mostly an almond-colored machine with chocolate brown accents. It looked REALLY beautiful and clean. I then took two pictures for fun. One was a very bright blue xenon light. However, my most regretful picture was a picture I took of an airbrushed T-shirt business. How regretful? The two people at the stand blinded their faces and referred to me as paparazzi. I was just trying to capture the HAS 2011 experience from many angles. Paparazzi is much worse!

The Kids Fun Zone was always entertaining. It was great seeing the kiddies all having fun apart from the rest of the show. I walked by there to refresh a bit before heading back to photographing cars. My specialty tour was done.

Dodge and Chrysler.

The next stop was Dodge. I saw the newer-style Avenger and liked its new design. It had the newer-style crosshair grill with chrome outlining the crosshair grills. The newer Grand Caravan was on display on the floor. It was pretty nice-looking to me. However, the newer Dodge models paled in comparison to a beautiful SUV either called the Dodge Citadel or the Dodge Durango Citadel. I was talking with one man who was as stunned at its beauty as I was. It's the loveliest Durango or Durango-associated machine I've EVER seen. Those are going to be gorgeous to see on the road. Equally gorgeous was a lady in a black dress, black tights, and a cute pair of black platform pumps offering a little more info on it. I learned a little more on the Citadel from her. The Dodge Citadel was shown in a lovely dark blue color.

Chrysler was up next. Here's something about me- there are very few Chryslers that I've disliked. I've always seemed to be enamored with Chryslers. I was starting to like the newer corporate face of Chryslers. One of those beauties was the newer Town and Country van. The newer Town and Country was a gorgeous machine. For the first time, I saw the new Chrysler 200. The 200 is the Sebring's replacement. There are some people say that the Sebring has too many strakes to be gorgeous. To me, the late-model Sebring is gorgeous to me. The 200 is still a lovely car. The 2011 Chrysler 300 was on display with its updated looks. Many called the previous 300 models as a poor man's Bentley. Well, there's nothing poor about these newer 300 models.

An Asian Tour.

The next four car companies I'd visit at HAS 2011 were all Asian makes- three Japanese companies and one Korean company. First up was Toyota. I saw the Texas-built Toyota Tundra first and snapped a quick picture of it. I must say that the newer 4Runner models look great. It has some muscle and some brawn to it while not being overaggressive or being too boastful. Then, I saw $75K USD of Toyota- the Land Cruiser. That thing is big and expensive! I then saw the car that costs about $10K USD less than the Land Cruiser- the Sequoia. I had to now find more civilized machines. It began with the Sienna. The REAL treat, however, was seeing the Swagger Wagon- a modified and stretched Sienna with neon underlighting as well as a nice "Swagger Wagon" license plate on the back. I then saw the beautiful Toyota Avalon in a delightful silvery white color. I saw a pretty nice Camry on the floor in an almond color. On a turntable was the Corolla S. It was both sporty and beautiful. I even saw a black Yaris. The real Toyota beauties weren't cars at all- they were the ladies wearing these beautiful red dresses paired with black knee-high boots. I even went to the Toyota stand saying that even though I've been halfway around the Houston Auto Show floor, if I had to vote "Best Dressed" from the ladies so far, I would give the nod to Toyota. One of the Toyota ladies was very nice.

Hyundai is the only Korean make in this section of my blog post. On a stand was the new Sonata. Hyundai has really come full circle over the years. Newer Hyundai models are looking sharper and more expressive. The new Sonata was evidence of the newer Hyundai style. Initially, I thought the Sonata was an ugly bugger (to use some Australian terms). But I think it looks very nice. The newer Tuscon was on the floor boasting the same sharp style. The Tuscon is in no way ugly. The Accent is not ugly, but bland. Nothing really exciting about its looks. Something tells me a re-design or a replacement model could be in its near future. The real stunner at Hyundai was the beautiful Elantra. The newer Elantras epitomize beauty in every sense of the word. Clearly the best-looking machines in the Hyundai section Not to be outdone in my Hyundai tour were pictures of the Azera and both Genesis models.

Back to Japan now with Honda. And to be honest, there weren't many Hondas I was excited to see. This, speaking as a Honda fan. I was in love with the Odyssey and its lovely looks. If there was a surprise to me at Honda, it was that the Element was still offered. The Element is the boxy SUV that you could basically spend a night in if you could. I took a few pictures of it for safekeeping. The lone Honda lady I've seen was dressed nicely, but not like the lovely Toyota ladies in red dresses.

The final Asian stop in this part of the blog was Subaru. I was mostly impressed with the design of recent Subarus. That's only as long as you're not talking about those mid-2000s Subarus with the ugly aircraft-inspired look. I love the 2003-ish Legacy models, but the latest Legacy models look fantastic and sharp. The Imprezas were also beautiful machines. I grew fonder of the Forester and the Outback models with such lovely and gracious style.

V-Dub and Nissan.

Three nationalities represented here- Germany (Volkswagen), America (Infiniti), and Japan (Nissan). Volkswagen was where I saw the amazingly bland-looking Jetta for the first time in person. I saw some other favorites like the Golf. The Golf GTI was there in the Volkswagen stand looking as awesome as it does. I saw the handsome Tiguan at the show in the VW section. I love the CC, and I was introduced to the new CC R-Line. I got a reminder as to how stressful it can be to walk around the showroom floor as I saw one of the Volkswagen ladies wearing sneakers rather than the knee-high boots the Volkswagen ladies were wearing. The final machine I was pleasantly surprised to see was the Touareg.

It is a fact that I am not really a Nissan person. That even includes Infiniti. Doesn't mean that I don't hate Infiniti, though. The two cars I were most impressed with were the G37 convertible and the M37S. There weren't too many other Infiniti models I was reluctant to see.

The reluctance at Nissan, however, was punctuated by one word- Leaf. I saw the Nissan Leaf for the first time. The car really stirred my interest as I saw it on display. The Leaf display even had a makeshift deal where you can plug in the electric charger to charge up the Leaf's engine. The only vehicle I was pleased to see in the Nissan section was the Maxima. The newer Quest vans look absolutely ugly up front. They look worse than the Juke (which I was VERY happy not to see at the show). A pleasant surprise in front of me was in the form of the Murano Cross Cabriolet. The Nissan girls were nicely dressed- motorcycle jackets, red blouses, black pants, and some black boots.

Fountain of Youth.

Scion is always my favorite section. I encountered the Scion section to see what all they were cooking. I made sure to get booklets and music from Scion. The Scion iQ was on display as I took a few pictures of the cute car. The Scion girls were rocking it. When I do my HAS 2011 post on fashion, I think most of my reading audience may look to Scion as the winners of "Best Dressed." Of all the show floor models, the Scion models were the edgiest and most youthful. They dressed up in some aggressive shorts, had dog tags as name tags, wore black tights, and wore some combat boots. There wasn't too much more to see, so I moved on. It wasn't until I talked with one of the Scion girls about my blog (which you're reading now). I made sure to let her know more about my blog. In return, I got a Scion Racing cap that I proudly wore.

The only Swedish contingent was Volvo. I saw a bunch of modern Volvos including the newer S60 Sedan I've slowly grown to love. Perhaps the most jaw-dropping Volvo I saw was the C70 convertible. It was love from every angle. Even snapped a few pictures of the XC series SUVs.

Whether you like them or not, up next was Kia. Kia has come along on its own. One of the most exciting models was the Forte. The car I REALLY wanted to see was the new Optima. Kia models have these grills that look like they are ready to eat anything in their paths. The Optima is really elegant and charming.

Ups and Downs.

I left Kia for Audi. The first few cars I laid eyes on were some of Audi's loveliest offerings. It began with the A6 and its charming looks. It wasn't the newer-style A6 (as in the one featured in recent international Auto Shows), though. Up next was the A3 compact. I honestly wish I could see more of these on the road. Then again, it's not like you see Audis daily as you do Toyotas or Hyundais. My automobile girlfriend was on the stand- the R8 road car. Not just any R8 road car, though. It was the R8 Spyder. I don't really like convertibles, but the R8 road car does look pretty nice without its top. Old favorites like the recent A4 and S4 were there along with a lovely A5 Cabriolet. The only disappointingly-designed Audi was the A8. I actually expected better than what Audi came up with style-wise for the A8. Not to be outdone from the Audi section was a nice TT. I even took a few pictures of some of the Audi gear as the beautifully-dressed Audi girls were behind the counter. They wore these lovely white ruffle blouses with black blazers, black slacks, and black pumps.

After stepping upscale, I stepped down to Mazda (no disrespect). I saw their nicely-designed vehicles ranging from their many cars to the crossover SUVs. I've always loved the CX-7 and CX-9 models. I didn't really have fun with a lot of people or things there. I did see other nice cars like the Mazda2. Next up was a trip to BMW.

I returned to Germany with BMW's section. I was pleased to see the X5 after seeing so much of the unattractive X3. BMWs have looked much less attractive since Chris Bangle came along for BMW. The 528i was an attractive machine I saw at the Houston Auto Show. Equal sentiments went out to the 328i and the latest M3. I even took a few pictures of the "What Was BMW Thinking Styling This Car This Way?" car- the latest Z4. I left to do some more gazing of cars as my tour was nearing an end.

The Big and Short of It.

The Lexus section was next in my circuit around Houston Auto Show 2011. I was at the Lexus section taking a look at a variety of lovely Lexus models. I was starting to like the GX460 from Lexus. This, speaking as someone who doesn't usually like the GX series of Lexus automobiles. Before I continued my Lexus tour, I quickly returned to the nearby Subaru section to flash some pictures of the Subaru Impreza STi. It was in a beautiful blue color. Then, I returned to Lexus. I forgot about that lone Subaru once I saw the most beautiful (except for its brownish color) LS600Hl I've ever seen. VIP Auto Salon tuned the heck out of an LS600HL with Brembo brakes, aggressive strakes aft of the front tires, and with a purely aggressive body kit. I was blown away by its looks. If ever there is an F version of the LS600hL, I'd LOVE for it to look something like this VIP Auto Salon car.

From big Lexuses, I went down to Mini. No Countryman models were there, but a handful of Coopers were there. It is always cool to visit Mini. Fun stuff and fun times.

Acura was my next stop. I am not really into Acura to be honest. I took a few pictures of some of their very nice cars and moved on. The TSX Sport Wagon was a nice little car I laid eyes on.

Coming (Back) to America.

The final automakers in my Houston Auto Show circuit to visit are all American makes. That finish line of my HAS 2011 tour was inching closer.

Lincoln has come along with nicely-designed cars, but so has Buick. I was in love with cars like the new Regal and the Lacrosse. One Buick that really caught my eye was the beautiful Verona. I was enamored with it very much. However, it was the Lacrosse that really caught my eye and my heart. What a beautiful car! I even told the lady who was on the turntable with the 2012 Lacrosse that the Buick Lacrosse should have been called the "Buick Beautiful." I even joked saying that it could have been called "Beautiful" by some other international term, like Hermosa or Bellissima. :)

I HAD to see the GMC Sierras in person. I wasn't disappointed seeing the beautiful GMC Sierras. The Denali HD was a Sierra model I initially didn't like... until I saw it up close. That truck is BEAUTIFUL! I even saw a more civilized Sierra when I gazed upon a more modest-looking Sierra. It was excellence in craftsmanship for sure.

After my follies at the Chevrolet section, it was time for me to give Chevy another try in taking pictures. I had returned takin pictures of a few Silverados. I saw a lovely Silverado with lots of chrome up front. It was a glorious machine.

Being the Cadillac hater I normally am, I've eased up on Caddy in recent times. I saw the CTS-V coupe on one turntable and became drawn to it nicely. I later came across the CTS-V wagon. It was beautiful, and so was the lady on the turntable talking more about it. She was nice enough in telling me more about it in her lovely zip-front dress and cute wedge pumps. The best way I could think of the CTS-V Wagon was that it does the duties of the CTS-V... only you can add two more people and some groceries. Those were the only two Cadillacs I really cared about.

After the Cadillac detour, it was back to Chevrolet. I saw the Chevrolet Volt on a turntable and took a few pictures. I later found the Stingray Concept. That car was SUPER low! It was an exciting-looking concept, though. I can't believe this concept marks more than 50 years of the Sting Ray. I was having better luck taking pictures since many of the people moved on. Then at one point, I saw something completely different- the Chevrolet Sonic. I was talking with the nicely-dressed Chevrolet girls about that car, and they told me that the Sonic will be the Aveo's replacement. The Sonic looks a bit like a Lancer up front. I was interested in this LS7-powered Camaro concept car. Among the Camaro contingent was a Camaro RS, a Camaro RS convertible, a nice green Camaro, and a Camaro with the classic White and Hugger Orange colors. I was actually really impressed with the ZR1 Corvette the most. It was very lovely to me.

The End...?

So I completed my circuit around the 2011 Houston Auto Show. I had some time on my hands, so did I stop? No. This was despite the fact that my Bloggie MHS-PM5 was actually running out of battery life. Therefore, any pictures I try to take now will have to be done quickly. I can't just let the Bloggie just run out of battery life (it is a rechargable battery video camera). So I need to take pictures quickly with as few people around as possible.

I returned to the Ford lot to find more cars I may or may not have taken pictures of. I couldn't get a proper Mustang picture earlier. I then was able to get some good Mustang pictures. Later on, I made it over to the Fiat area where I wanted to get into the Fiat 500. I found out this car actually has LESS room than a Mini. I went over to the Jeep area and saw the Grand Cherokee again on the turntable. This time, I saw a pretty girl who was talking more about the Grand Cherokee. She was probably the hottest lady as far as hostesses were concerned. She had a lovely jacket, a black top, something that seemed like leather jeans (they weren't regular denim jeans), and some sweet peep-toe pumps. The jacket, pants, and pumps are all kind of an Army Green color. I'll share some pictures in my "My 2011 Houston Auto Show Experience - Fashion" blog post.

You made it! It was a lot of reading, I know. But, it's nothing you aren't used to if you are a regular reader of my blog. My final blog post has hardly anything to do with cars. This is where I will share some of my fashion-themed material. It is the final bit of material I have to share with all of you. I am adding only so many pictures to my Houston Auto Show 2011 gallery. To see the pictures I've taken, visit my 2011 Houston Auto Show gallery on Facebook. I may consider adding a Picasa gallery in the future.
