Dr. Martens features the world's most popular industrial-type shoes. The British maker is celebrating their golden anniversary as their first shoe was released in 1960. I believe this is my first blog about any specific company or clothing line. Their footwear is worn by both males and females. They can be for the tough dude, the trendy girl, the girl who wants to mix girly cute with a tough pair of boots, and people like that. Founded in 1960, Dr. Martens is celebrating its golden anniversary. I will admit that I'm not really crazy about these boots, but I'll do my best to blog on these because I know there are people likely going to want to want their own pair of Doc Martens.
--- What Makes Dr. Martens so Popular? ---
I have mentioned how these shoes have appealed to types ranging from the fashionable set to the more hard set. A usual pair of Dr. Martens are some industrial-type boots that are not just for the working set. There are also some Doc Martens oxford shoes. Females even have some Dr. Martens mary janes. This part of the blog entry features Dr. Martens on Amazon. This is where I will show off some Dr. Martens shoes that you can buy. I want to try to cover as many aspects as possible- men, women, and kids. I want you and encourage you to find a pair of Dr. Martens you'll proudly wear with your favorite outfits. I will do my best to include as many sizes as possible to help you in finding a pair you want to get if you want a pair of Dr. Martens. Shoe sizes can be absolutely confusing since I'm dealing with US and UK shoe sizes. I will try not to confuse you.
First off, I want to start off with the classic and legendary shoe that is well-respected and revered among Doc Martens fans:
Dr. Martens - Unisex Shoes (sizes for Men's and Women's sizes).
* This is the shoe that started it all 50 years ago. The legendary 1460 has ben in production since April 1, 1960 and is still sold and worn by both males and females. It has been a tough shoe for both males and females. Males add some tough style to their tough looks with boots like these. Depending upon which females you are around, some wear these to show their own toughness, or downplay girly looks by rocking a pair of boots like these. Whether male or female, these boots are not just a pair of Dr. Martens... they ARE Dr. Martens. These boots come in 30 different colors. These 30 colors even consist of various materials. There are a multitude of sizes available for all Dr. Martens 1460 boots on Amazon. Check the graphic above to find a pair that is available in your size. Sizes are in American and UK sizes. They range (all sizes included) from 3 F(M) UK to 13 D(M) US. Sizes are available for Men sizes and Women sizes. Check each colors for availablity and if they are in stock if you want your own pair of these boots.
* These Dr. Martens oxfords can go with almost any of your rugged looks. You can even wear these with a pair of twill pants (especially for you folks that go to school and wear school uniforms)! There are nine colors available for these. They start out at a size 6 F(M) UK, and they go all the way to a 12 D UK size. US shoe sizes go from a 7 D(M) US for Men and an 8 B(M) US for Women, and they go all the way to a 13 D(M) US Men's size and a 14 B(M) US Women's size. There is also a 12 D(M) US size for men.
* Think of the 1461 oxford shoes as an oxford alternative to the 1460, only that the 1461 is more for the classy set. It's classy meets tough. There are nine different colors available for these shoes. There are many sizes available for these as well. A lot of them are in UK shoe sizes, but a few conversions are available for these from Amazon. Check the graphic to see all available sizes for both men and women.
* As you look at these fisherman sandals above, this is another unisex item from Dr. Martens. Fisherman sandals are very casual and tough. They weren't meant to be cute or stylish (speaking for my female readers/viewers). There are three colors available for these sandals. UK sizes range from 6 F(M) UK to 13 F(M) UK. US sizes range from 8 D(M) US to 14 D(M) US.
* The final shoe I'll mention in this section are the Heritage Steel Cap oxfords from Dr. Martens. These rugged oxfords are for both men and women. Two colors are available for these. Sizes translate for American men and American women. The range of sizes are as follows: the only non-US size is a size 4 F(M) UK. The base American women's size is 7 B(M) US, and its male equivalent is a 6 D(M) US. Available US Women's sizes go up to a 13 B(M) US shoe size. Men's sizes go up to a 14 D(M) US size. Dr. Martens - Kids.
I'll only feature two.* (UNISEX ITEM?) This is a Dr. Martens oxford for kids. The only available size is 2 F(M) UK Youth, which translates to about maybe a 4-4.5 M US Big Kid size. It is an excellent shoe for pairing with school outfits.
* Though they are mary janes, these mary janes for toddler girls and little kid girls are the perfect combination of cute and tough. These would be cute for school or for walking around with your parents (talking to you parents of little girls). There are three shoe colors to choose from. Sizes are in American and UK shoe sizes (since Dr. Martens is a British shoe maker). There are sizes for Toddler, Little Kid, and Big Kid. Toddler sizes range from 8 M US to 10 M US Toddler, Little Kid sizes range from 11-11.5 M US to 13-13.5 M US, and the only Big Kid size 4-4.5 M US.
Dr. Martens - Men.
I am not known to solely focus on men's shoes or most male fashions, but I will try to do so in this blog entry. This part features Men's size shoes.* Fitted with a steel cap, these are exclusively work boots for men. These are boots made for the hard-working man who wants a pair of boots as tough as he is. American sizes for these boots range from 6 D(M) US to 14 D(M) US. The full range of UK shoe sizes range from 5 F(M) UK to 13 F(M) UK. There are three colors to choose from for these work boots.
* The Tevin loafer from Dr. Martens is for men. It is a laceless alternative to a lace-up oxford. Expect nothing but slip-on comfort in this classy pair of shoes. Three colors are available, two of which are brown colors. UK shoe sizes range from 7 F(M) UK to 13 F(M) UK. US sizes range from 7 D(M) US to 14 D(M) US.
* To say these Buado St. men's work shoes are hot would be an absolutely weak joke. Dr. Martens shoes above have flames on the sides and are only in black. These are industrial shoes, so they wouldn't be bad shoes to wear in tough environments. Or really... why not wear these casually with some long shorts or some good-fitting jeans? Sizes range from 8 D(M) US (or 7 F(M) UK) to 13 D(M) US (or 12 F(M) UK).
* Dr. Martens is about tough shoes, even sandals! These Maui thong sandals for men have some rugged character to them. These would be the tough alternative to a basic pair of flimsy flip-flops. Two different brown colors are available with sizes ranging from 7 D(M) US (or 6 F(M) UK) to 14 D(M) US (or 13 F(M) UK).
* Another pair of tough sandals are here. This one has the more traditional industrial-type base. Meet the "Abe" sandals from Dr. Martens. These only come in brown with sizes ranging from 7 D(M) US (or 6 F(M) UK) to 13 D(M) US (or 12 F(M) UK).
Dr. Martens - Women.
This area pertains to feminine shoes from Dr. Martens. Only women's sizes will be highlighted if they are also in men's sizes (meaning that men's sizes are also available for the certain shoes).
