Plus Size Beauties - the World Tour!

(UPDATED: March 12, 2012)

To everyone who thinks plus size women can't be beautiful, I am here to prove you wrong with this post. This post was created by semi-popular demand based on hits I've gotten to my blog post on plus size fashion. Curvy models, bloggers, celebrities, and more will be featured here in my salute to lovely plus size women. Consider this a World Tour of beautiful plus size women because I want to showcase lovely plus size women from around the world. And as anyone would know, I do NOT use the "world" to just mean a couple of different countries. I am here to share with you that you can be a plus size girl AND be beautiful looking at the same time! I am also here to show any critics that you don't have to be Barbie-doll slim or perfect to be a beautiful woman. If I can, I want to try to find as many plus size beautiful women to feature from various parts of the world.

That's right- plus size beauties... the World Tour! And... I'm your tour guide!

NOTE: I read online that there are actual differences in terms like "curvy," "plus size," "full-figure," and terms like that. I will mostly use "plus size" and "curvy" throughout my post almost interchangeably. However, I will NOT use the word "fat" to describe anyone here.

LATEST UPDATE/REVISION:

MAR 12 2012 - added another blog (HINT: from Brazil)

--- Big and Beautiful: Plus Size Beauties ---

This blog post was created as I've seen how people have found my post on plus size fashion. I extended my look at beautiful plus size women. "Plus Size Fashion" was a blog post that has helped me to gain a good amount of respect among the plus size community in the blogosphere and even on Facebook. I have had the opportunity to visit blogs, meet new people online, and things of that nature to help enhance my profile online.

As a Houston native, I'm in a city that has been considered the "fattest city in America" in the past. So I've gotten to meet a number of plus size women before. What is really sad about society is that people can't appreciate that beauty comes in many forms. Most people in society have nothing better to do but to just make fun of and disrespect women just because they aren't slim. You know, calling them "fatties" and stuff like that. Perhaps most misconstrued is the correlation between slim and healthy. There are larger-size females who are active and fit. Heck... I have even see larger size women do splits! Another misconstrued factor is what actually qualifies as "plus size." What some people think are plus size females are average at best.

Curvy and Proud.

The idea of being slim leads some curvy females to feeling disappointed that they can't be as loved and as respected as slim (or at least average) size female. Some curvy women want to lose weight. Some, however... are happy with their size. So what happens when you still want to look good while still flaunting your curves? Unless you find some great-fitting and good-looking clothes, your options are fairly limited because a lot of average fashion designers don't cater to or have garments meant for larger-size women. Your luck really runs out if you are among the BBW (big beautiful women) crowd, with clothing sizes north of 5X. But on the other hand, accepting your larger frame and wanting to accommodate yourself with clothes for larger figures can be a challenge. It really feels great knowing there are designers that do cater to larger sizes when there are designers who fail to cater to larger sizes.

Why Are Plus Size Females So Disregarded?

There are people who have characteristics of what makes a woman beautiful. I certainly have my own. Many people just think that plus size women just aren't as attractive as slim and slender women. Some people who think that being curvy is not only unattractive, but also unhealthy. This goes back to a social ideal in which every female should be as attractive as a Barbie doll. A number of these plus size ladies would probably feel unattractive because of their size. They would feel so unattractive just because they don't get as much attention or as much appeal as any slim and slender women. Because of this, a number of curvy women feel disrespected, disregarded, and simply ugly. Like, "do I really have to be as slim as a Barbie doll to be considered beautiful?" Or on the other hand, correction- people DO love curvy women... as long as curvy women lose weight.

I just can't see how there are some people out there who are not as willing to accept certain thick women as being as beautiful as any slim women. Sometimes, I think some curvy women can be as beautiful, if not more beautiful, than some slim women. A curvy lady in a hot short dress with some platform pumps can be just as sexy as a slim lady in a short dress and platform pumps. Some people, unfortunately, think that being thick or having some extra body fat doesn't equal sexy.

If you don't think curvy women can be beautiful, check this video out (or just read the rest of this blog post!). This is a video from the FOX reality show "More to Love." These curvy women look beautiful all dolled up here:

Curvy women can be just as beautiful as any slender woman. Can curvy women be sexier than (or as sexy) as any slender girl, however? The answer is a resounding yes if you watch this Torrid video:

So there you have it- curvy girls can be just as beautiful as slender girls. Just too bad many people don't appreciate curvy beauty.

--- Plus Size Beauties: World Tour! ---

These include various curvy ladies of many kinds. The ladies range from bloggers to celebrities.

The only criteria- "more to love" or more. It's about being plus-sized/curvy/extended-size. No slender ladies will be featured here. The point of this post is to show that plus-size women can be just as beautiful as any slim and slender lady.

Just to show this is a "World Tour" of curvy beauties, their location is noted in parentheses (). I want to do this to show that there are many beautiful ladies the world over. And in the case of this post, there are many curvy beauties the world over. Visit the links in each lady's heading to visit either their official website or fan page.

(ADDED: January 3, 2012) This post features other peoples' blogs. If you encounter someone's blog that I post here, and if you like the blog in question; you are more than welcome to follow that person's blog. Just about all of the blogs featured are on Blogger/Blogspot, so feel free to introduce yourself to some new blogs if you love plus size fashion.

Part of my method of enjoying blogging is in helping others find related blogs and sites of the same category. So by all means, get to meet various other blogs in case what you find in this post interests you.

Shay Shaunte' (USA).

One of my most popular blog posts, "Plus Size Fashion" featured one lady who goes by the stage name of Shay Shaunte. I wanted to find a plus size lady to show that even curvy ladies can be every bit as attractive and hot as any average slender girl. The one I eventually found was Houston native, Shay Shaunte'. Her website can be visited from the heading to this section.

Coupon Conte$$a. (WordPress Blog; USA)

(ADDED: January ??, 2012)
As featured on Live Well Network's "Deals," Nora Kapche, also known as "the Coupon Contessa," is a woman who is all about getting and seeking good deals on many things. She has been featured in a number of segments on "Deals," and she even play-tests certain frugal offers. Will any work for you? The Coupon Contessa will let you know in her own way!

Nora may be about couponing and saving money, but her beauty is priceless. Her advice is also priceless. Here is a look at the Coupon Contessa:

"Walk for Deals" - on Deals, on livewellnetwork.com

Nadine Moon.

(ADDED: January ??, 2012)
The beautiful Nadine Moon is the owner of Houston's premier cake studio- Who Made the Cake! This Texas native has created some of the most unique cakes you will ever see. She is one artist who creates delicious and unique masterpieces. Nadine Moon was featured on the Live Well Network program "Deals" a few times before. This video below showcases Nadine Moon, so here is a chance for you to see this lovely woman while being interviewed by another lovely woman, Katishia (Kat) Cosley. And if you like this video and want to learn more about the video's topic, visit the link below this video:

"Cupcakes" - on Deals, on livewellnetwork.com

I am considering a blog post with a related topic to this section. Stay tuned to John's Blog Space for a possible future post on an element regarding this section you just read.

Principessa Gabriella (USA).

Gabriella is beautiful and charming. This Pennsylvanian princess offers charm both American style and Italian style. "Principessa Gabriella" is her blog devoted to almost anything (mostly fashion and beauty). Speaking of beauty, she has beauty in abundance. Gabriella's style can primarily be defined as girly and cute. She is unafraid to showcase her style in her own way. Her range of styles even includes vintage-style glamour. I encourage fans of my blog to visit Principessa Gabriella because she is a wonderful person and a great supporter of my online work.

Style 4 Curves --For the Curvy Confident Woman (USA).

Here is a lady named Venessia from the state of Mississippi. Blogging since June 2011, Venessia showcases her sense of style to the world through her various blog posts. The curvy beauty can be girly and cute with her style, but she can always turn up the heat and showcase a little fierce style. Her glorious hair and sweet smile are as lovely as the outfit posts she makes.

Curvy Girl Chic (USA).

Allison is the lady behind "Curvy Girl Chic." She boasts one of the cutest smiles and some of the cutest looks in her blog. I discovered her flipping through the pages of Teen Vogue or Seventeen magazine. I have since appreciated and admired her lovely sense of style. In trying to find curvy ladies from around the world to feature, she is the only Asian I could find, as she is both Cantonese and Taiwanese.

Paula Deen (USA).

The Southern cooking queen is one Paula Deen. Born in Albany, Georgia, USA; Paula Deen is both a cooking superstar as well as an inspiration. She has lived through many hardships and remained strong to become the figure she is today. I think more people should appreciate her for getting through rough times rather than just know her as the highly entertaining cook she is. Not to belittle her cooking or anything. She is about the oldest lady I'll feature here, as she is (born: January 17, 1947) years old. Here is a little insight on Paula Deen's and her entertaining style:

This was an old blog post I did about Paula Deen: "Paula Deen" on John's Blog Space.

Nikki Blonsky (USA).

Sweet as sugar and completely down to earth, Nikki Blonsky of Great Neck, New York, USA is an actress and a singer. This is someone who is very lovely in looks and in spirit. One thing that makes her special is how she is not afraid to be herself. Nikki is not letting the fact that she's curvy be any sort of deterrent to her being successful in any arena she partakes in. One thing I didn't know about her- she's short! This sweet petite is 4'10". She is so cute! Don't believe me? Check this out:

Oh, and I blogged about her a long time ago: "Nikki Blonsky" on John's Blog Space. :)

Gabi Gregg (USA).

Gabrielle (Gabi) Gregg's claim to fame was in being MTV's first Twitter jockey. This beautiful lady from Detroit showcases her curvy style in everything from outfit posts to even a swimwear post she once did. Any one curvy girl who is unafraid to showcase her style is one GABIFRESH. Visit her blog to see her broad range of styles from this lovely curvy lady.

Jordin Sparks (USA).

The winner of Season 6 of American Idol is Jordin Sparks. This young singing star from Glendale, Arizona delivers a powerful voice while also sounding sweet. She has sung a number of great songs. My personal favorite of hers is "One Step at a Time." Other classic songs include "No Air," "Battlefield," and more.

I have not ruled out doing a blog post on her. I actually want to do one on her.

Curves Ahead (USA).

Candy is a makeup artist behind Curves Ahead Makeup and the blog "Curves Ahead." This candy girl from North Hollywood, CA, USA is sweet with a delicious sense of style. She will commonly share her beauty expertise as well as showcase a number of her looks, often called her "Weekend Girlie Looks." Also part of Candy's fashion repertoire is a shoe line called Fancy Steps. This luscious Latina also lends her fashion and beauty know-how to YouTube. Visit Candy's blog to get a taste of her beauty and style.

Or if you are on YouTube, you can see her YouTube channel by visiting "Curvesaheadmakeup" on YouTube.

Bigg Badd Wolf (USA).

The plus size Baltimore beauty known as The Notorious ZAG delivers her own unique sense of style. Her blog has a lot of different fashion looks as well as various insight on all sorts of looks. Her interest in my blogging work has earned me full respect in all she does. Because of her support, I am including her among my Plus Size Beauties post. Why not pay a visit to Bigg Badd Wolf?

Queen Latifah (USA).

Dana Owens to some people is Queen Latifah to many others. As one of the best hip-hop artists of the 1990s, Queen Latifah's talents were taken into acting as well as in going from hip-hop to sultry jazz numbers. Many may remember Queen Latifah from the '90s FOX sitcom "Living Single." While I am not any kind of fanatic of Queen Latifah, I best remember her song "U.N.I.T.Y." from the '90s.

Betsy Ruth (USA).

Here is a BBW (big beautiful woman) who can wrestle you. From what I read, she's no longer wrestling; but former TNA Knockout Rosie LottaLove (also known as Betsy Ruth) is a (born: January 17, 1985) was born MaryKate Duignan Glidewell. She stands 6'1" and weighs 250 lbs. I think she's beautiful. Maybe not glamourous, but there is a little pin-up beauty to this BBW. Here is a link with pictures of her: LethalWOW page on Betsy Ruth (Rosie LottaLove).

Kia Stevens (USA).

Awesome Kong or Kharma is what many professional wrestling fans know her as. She is one of the most physically imposing professional wrestlers today. She is Kia Stevens away from the ring. As of this post, I hear she's still becoming a mother. So while her time in the WWE is fairly short up to this point (as Kharma), there is hardly anyone in women's professional wrestling who is as imposing as her. I actually think she is a lovely woman to be 5'9" and weighing in at a crazy billed weight of 272 lbs. Think of Awesome Kong/Kharma as the Big Show of women in pro wrestling because of her imposing character and power. Pictures of her can be seen here: PWPIX.net page on Awesome Kong/Kharma.

Ashley Graham (USA).

Controversy arose when a Lane Bryant (a plus size fashion specialist) commercial was banned from being shown on television at a certain time of day because of "too much cleavage." The model at the center was young Ashley Graham. Ashley Graham is a beautiful curvy diva from Lincoln, Nebraska (that's right, college fans- Cornhusker Country). This sparked outrage from some people, including one Queen Latifah. The plus size community would argue that for as much as we see slender women parade around on TV in lingerie, it is somehow a double standard that we don't see classy, beautiful plus size women showcase their beauty in lingerie. If anything, Ashley Graham should be an inspiration for plus size women.

If you don't believe that Ashley Graham is a beautiful curvy lady, you might have a change of heart after seeing this video:

Well?

Crystal Renn (USA).

One Florida-born girl's dream was to be a supermodel. Her name was Crystal Renn. She would be someone who could grace the cover of magazines like Vogue... on one condition- only if she lose over 70+ pounds. In the rat race to try to be slim and slender, Crystal found herself not accepting her body much and nearly dying from eating disorders. She tried to give into society accepting slimmer women over those who don't just be themselves, and it almost killed Crystal Renn. Accepting her body was the best choice she ever made.

The link takes you to her Facebook fan page. She has an official page, but I was NEVER able to pull it up.

I am NOT done here! I am providing this Jump Break to improve the performance of this blog post, so click on "Read More" to continue reading if you are not looking at the full blog post. I have not yet featured some non-American curvy ladies. So read on to find more plus size beauties!

Love John's Blog Space? If so (and if you haven't yet subscribed or followed), Subscribe and/or Follow!

Kai Lee (USA).

(WARNING: Link leads to content NOT SAFE FOR WORK!)
Kai Lee is both a girl gamer as well as a lovely model. I can appreciate her as a Gran Turismo fan. She is a big booty model who is very lovely as well as very fit and active. My respect for her grew when she discovered my blog and decided to friend me on Facebook. There is no doubt that she is a very cool person. So I've included her among the curvy beauties.

To keep this blog world friendly (and to avoid linking to a highly explicit website), I am including her Myspace fan page as the link to where you can see more of Kai Lee.

Hello Lucie! (USA(?)).

Lucia (or Lucie) is the young blogger who also loves interior design. She is a beautiful lady with great style. Her smile and style will amaze you and warm your heart. Why not visit Lucia's blog today to prove the point?

Jennifer Hudson (USA - Honorable Mention!).

Even before losing lots of weight, Chicago's Jennifer Hudson remains a beautiful lady. This lady still remains a very good singer. I personally think her singing is incredible. She's a slimmer diva now (disqualifying her as "curvy" here), so I'm placing Jennifer Hudson as Honorable Mention.

I have not ruled out possibly making a blog post on her.

Bonjour Gazel. (Canada).

Sometimes in my Beauties-themed posts, I include certain names because I want to include certain people that I think my readers would probably appreciate me posting about. I personally select whomever it is I want to feature in my blog posts. That even includes material I don't necessarily like or admit being a fan of. So while I don't read her blog or visit it often, I am including Canada's Gazel (pronounced "gay-zelle"). This young Asian fashion blogger from Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada is the creator of "Bonjour Gazel." It is a very popular fashion blog regarding plus size fashion.

Viva Voluptuous! (Canada).

(ADDED: February 19, 2012) It is sometimes discomforting for a plus sized lady to not be able to romantically showcase her curves. Marisa of "Viva Voluptuous!", however, plans to change that. This is a plus size fashion blog not afraid of showcasing curves in a romantic and classy way. She isn't afraid to wear lingerie and showcase her curves to you. A lot of her posts mostly feature outfit she's put together or feature some inspiration for curvy women. I honestly think Marisa will really change your perception if you think curvy women can't be as beautiful as any slender woman.

Vida Guerra (Cuba).

Vida Guerra was one of the first to showcase that curvy can be beautiful. She did so by gracing the cover of FHM Magazine. She was both curvy as well as short. Still, Vida was hot enough to win the hearts of most men who gazed at her. Vida was the hostess of "Livin' the Low Life," a show dedicated to lowrider culture.

SELECTIVE MEMORY (Mexico).

Representing Mexico is Emmy of "SELECTIVE MEMORY." This curvy Mexican sort of has a little of everything in her style posts. Nothing too girly or cute is featured. However, parading in combat boots is uncommon. Her style is a little of everything. Have a visit to SELECTIVE MEMORY to check out this lady's style.

Fluvia Lacerda (Brazil).

If you prefer some South American loveliness, Brazilian beauty Fluvia Lacerda is a very lovely plus size model.

Fofoleca (Brazil).

The Portuguese blog "Fofoleca" is run by a curvy Brazilian named Vanessa. "Fofoleca" is not a real word as Vanessa tells me. "Fofoleca" is a combination of "fofo" (meaning "cute") and "moleca" (meaning either "tomboy" or "a witty girl"). This sweet-faced and super-cute lady shares her fashion and beauty style along with a little insight on losing weight. Her blog is still worth visiting even if you don't understand Portuguese. Vanessa's beauty translates well in any language. All you have to do is visit "Fofoleca" and say "ola!" to my lovely Brazilian friend.

Sachê e Bombom (Brazil).

(ADDED: March 12, 2012)
Even though her blog is in Portuguese (with English subtitles), Camille is a young Brazilian who has outstanding beauty. She is a curly-haired beauty with a sweet smile and a cute face. Her blog is called Sachê e Bombom. As I mentioned previously, her blog is in Portuguese but with English translations. Have a visit to Camille's blog and check out her many different styles.

Georgina Doull and Charlotte Doull (England, United Kingdom).

I am including these two sisters in one section. The older sister here is Georgina. Georgina is the blogger behind "Cupcake's Clothes." "Cupcake's Clothes" can be thought of as a playful showcase of fashion and style. Georgina has many creative outfits and looks. Besides outfits, she usually enjoys playing around with nails and making creative nail polish touches. It is worth a visit to check out this curvy cutie's blog. Georgina also has her own accessory line called Dolly Mixx, so you may visit that too if you enjoy her work.

Georgina's younger sister, Charlotte, is the creator of "Sugar and Spice." She is as lovely as her older sister. Charlotte's trade is in making beautiful artwok of pets called PAWtraits. You can learn more about her Pet Pawtraits by visiting the Pet PAWtraits by Charlotte Doull Facebook Fan Page.

The Woolen Mitten (England, United Kingdom).

"The Woolen Mitten" is the blog of one young curvy blogger named Sara. She also happens to be a petite in addition to being curvy. I am including her out of respect for her work.

Adele (England, United Kingdom).

While I am not really a fan of her music (she's alright to me), Adele is a charming, curvy lady. She certainly has great musical talent though. "Rolling in the Deep" is EASILY my favorite song of hers. Most others just haven't been to my liking much. I just don't like her music as much as other people do. But again- I don't hate her music. Adele brings soulful Motown style with some modern instruments and beats. Considering this lady is from England delivering soulful MoTown singing style is worth some love.

I am not ruling out a blog post about Adele, so be sure to stay subscribed to "John's Blog Space" to see if I do post about Adele.

Pearls, Lace, and Ruffles ; a fatshion blog. (Ireland).

Dee is a beautiful Irish girl behind "Pearls, Lace, and Ruffles." When she smiles at the camera, her smile is sugar sweet along with many of her outfits. Part of her appeal mostly lies in vintage-type outfits. Her outfit posts can range from very cute and soft looks to somewhat edgy looks. She still maintains a modicum of girly-girl charm in all of her outfits and all of her posts. Perhaps an underrated aspect of her blog and her style is in all of the soft colors she presents in her posts. You'll see how lovely she is once you check out her blog. So go on- visit!

Charlotte Coyle (Ireland).

Charlotte Coyle is an curvy Irish fashion model. The 5'11" beauty born in 1982 is undeniably beautiful. Real sweetheart she is. Courtesy of www.judgmentofparis.com, you can learn more about Charlotte Coyle by seeing her pictures and reading about her at this page on www.judgmentofparis.com.

Lique Fleur (Netherlands).

Lique Fleur is a delicious Dutch diva. This curvy woman is very angelic in beauty. Lique has golden blonde curly hair, beautiful blue eyes, a sweet smile, and a very charming personality. Her beauty is breathtaking in my view. To see modeling pictures of this beautiful woman, please visit this thread on www.judgmentofparis.com featuring pictures of Lique Fleur.

Angy's Tea Room (Russia).

If your spot of tea involves fashion, Angelica Ardasheva of "Angy's Tea Room" should be to your liking. She is a Russian fashion blogger based in Italy. She has a range of styles showcased in both outfit posts and in inspirational fashion posts.

Aarti Sequeira (India).

(ADDED: January 12, 2012) Meet Aarti Sequeira. She's a curvy beauty who made her fame by winning "The Next Food Network Star." This (born: August 19, 1978)-year old used to be a producer for CNN before taking on food. Her show, "Aarti Party," highlights on making great meals with a little twist of India. She is a beautiful woman.

To read my blog post on Aarti, check out "Aarti Sequeira" on John's Blog Space.

PLUMP, or The Plump Pinay (Philippines).

This blog features two Filipino bloggers- Stacy and Danah. Both of which, are 5'7" plus sized young women. Their dimensions are unlike the average Filipino woman. Through accepting your body and living healthy, Stacy and Danah promote themselves respectfully on PLUMP and in discussing plus size fashion the way they see fit. Stacy and Danah even offer their own outfit posts.

Fat Aus! (Australia).

Fat Aus! is the blog of a lady named Bronny from Australia. This Aussie's curvy style is showcased nicely with a vast array of outfits ranging from girly to edgy. I actually discovered this blog in trying to come up with any sort of international curvy ladies.

Phebe Rendulic (Australia).

A photographer, a musician, and a blogger; Australian Phebe covers many bases in media. She is a native of Adelaide, South Australia, Australia; and she lends her love of many things (including fashion) to her posts. Her blog is called "Lightning Heart." She is part of a band called Radio Spectacular. This is a young lady with a little of everything. The link in the header takes you to her official home page.

Do you know any other beautiful plus size women? Perhaps any BBW's (big beautiful women)? Contact me via E-Mail! If I like your suggestion(s), I will be sure to add them in a future edit. I will also add names to this post if I personally find some online lovely enough to be mentioned here.

--- What I Hope I Have Accomplished in This Post ---

I hope my blog post has helped to showcase the beauty of plus sized women as well as reverse any perceptions most people have against plus size women. It began with "Plus Size Fashion," which was a general blog post devoted to plus size fashions. The popularity of that blog post ultimately lent itself to this one regarding curvy women. I felt like I needed to create this post to showcase the beauty of curvy women and oppose any stereotypes or double standards regarding curvy women.

If You Are One Many Women Represented in This Post...

If you enjoyed my post, I am glad you did. I do whatever I can to try to give back to my audience. You are very welcome for me featuring you if you enjoyed my work. Thank you very much!

Southeast Asian Beauties

(UPDATED: April 9, 2012)

Continuing my Beauties series on Asian ladies, I now introduce Southeast Asia into this discussion. This post includes ladies from places like Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines... all among MANY other locations. This Asian Beauties series continues with Southeast Asian beauties. I would like to welcome and salute all people from the aforementioned countries representing this blog post. Enough talk... time to show you some exotic (and some not-so-exotic) beauties! :D

NOTES: Most pictures were the best ones I could find and use from using searches with Google Images. If I could not find a good-enough picture or video to use, I will link you to some other site where you can learn more about each featured person. If certain images have been blocked, I will try to find some other way to feature each person. I would like to thank all the YouTube channels that allowed embedding so I could educate my audience with YouTube videos. I thank the sites that have allowed me to borrow images. Contact me via E-Mail if there are some that should be removed (for copyright reasons only). I apologize for the inconvenience.

WARNING: Some material in this blog post may not be suitable for all audiences. Videos and pictures are being shown at your own discretion.

LATEST UPDATE:

NOV 27 2011 - made some simple edits

--- Asian Beauties ---

When most people think of Asian people and things, many people (understandably) think of Asia along the Pacific Rim and many of the outlying Pacific islands around Asia. In this series of blog posts regarding Asian beauties, I will showcase various Asian women as some of the most beautiful from this featured part of the world. I will be sure to feature many more lovely ladies from this certain sector of the world in more posts.

Once the series is complete, you may link to any of the following through the list below. Here is a look at the Asian Beauties series:

--- ASIAN BEAUTIES SERIES ---
• East Asian Beauties
• Southeast Asian Beauties
• South Asian Beauties
• Central Asian Beauties

I may plan on doing Middle Eastern beauties separately. Either that, or I may include another blog post in this Asian beauty series to feature Middle Eastern ladies. I am actually not sure how I want to address the South Asia or Middle Eastern beauties at this moment.

Asian Beauties: Southeast Asia.

The following are all the countries/territories represented in this blog post: Brunei, Burma (Myanmar), Cambodia, East Timor, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam

Now, I must admit something before I begin. This list was NOT easy to come up with. My knowledge of Southeast Asia is not that good. I want to satisfy every audience member especially from the aforementioned countries and people from or of the descent of these aforementioned countries. I hate disappointing people, and I always hope my work means something to all of my readers. My knowledge of personalities from most of these locations is very poor. Regardless, I want all of my readers to bear with me here.

How This Blog Post Works.

You will see certain ladies from the seven represented nations that make up East Asia. Here are the represented nations in order:

• Southeast Asia: Mainland - ladies from mainland Southeast Asian nations.
• Southeast Asia: Maritime - ladies from coastal Southeast Asian nations as well as Asian islands.

So let's get started! Some information on featured people were provided by Wikipedia searches. I may only make mention to certain ladies if I can't find pictures, websites, or videos on each featured lady. Don't forget that I may edit this post from time to time to update my material. I am not including certain images for fear of copyright infringement.

--- Southeast Asia: Mainland ---

THIS REGION: Cambodia, Laos, Burma (Myanmar), Thailand, Vietnam

These are beautiful ladies either from the aforementioned countries or of their aforementioned descent. I have received blog hits from all of these locations before, so I know I hope I can get more hits from these nations.

--- Vietnam ---
Here in Houston, we have the largest Vietnamese population in Texas and about the third largest in the United States. So I've known quite a lot of Vietnamese people in Houston and in the Houston area. That even includes a handful of lovely Vietnamese ladies I've known personally. So it's best I begin with region I am most familiar with.

Nguyen Thuy Lam.

Riêng Mình Em.

I hope you're ready for some more music. Here is the Vietnamese pop star, Rieng Minh Em. This lady is beautiful! This song is also very cool to listen to. Just too bad my Vietnamese is extremely poor. I think the song translates to "Me Alone":

Brittanie Ngo.

(ADDED: November 25, 2011) Brittanie Ngo is a benevolent beauty of Vietnamese descent. What makes her different is that she chooses to do modeling shoots only if it is for charity. I first saw her in advertisements for a car bodykit company called Kaminari. Her images are copyrighted, so this is the best I could do to showcase the beautiful Brittanie Ngo. See and hear Brittanie here:

Visit her website at www.brittanie.com.

Michelle Phan (MichellePhan).

MichellePhan is one of YouTube's most popular beauty channels. Michelle Phan herself is a Vietnamese-American beauty expert from Boston. To round out the petite fashion bloggers of this section, I give you Khatu. The young Vietnamese petite from Boston is only 4'11", but big on beauty. Khatu's style is very diverse. communitychannel (Honorable Mention!)

communitychannel
^ from: talk.onevietnam.org - "Your mum rates me." One of YouTube's coolest channels is "communitychannel," headed by this young lady, Natalie.

Natalie Tyler Tran, better known on YouTube as communitychannel, is the hottest YouTube channel in Australia. It is arguably the best and most popular channel in the Asia-Pacific region. She is Vietnamese-Australian hailing from the beautiful city of Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. I greatly respect her as one of my inspirations on YouTube. Back when I was really active on YouTube, I would commonly watch her videos. She never fails to impress. So what's up with Natalie lately? Check out her latest videos by visiting "communitychannel" on YouTube. Here is a sample of one of Natalie's older videos:

And I quote... "your mum rates me." :)

That's all for Vietnamese beauties!

The 5'8" model is a sweet-faced, sweet-smiling Thai princess with lovely hair. This video may lend you a little more insight on this lady:

Those are some of many of Thailand's lovely ladies.

--- Cambodia ---
Angkor Wat is a lovely sight, and so are Cambodia's ladies. Here are some of the many I will feature in this post.

Prum Ratha.

Keo Kalyan.

From Cambodia's captial city of Phnom Penh, Keo Kalyan is a trail blazer for modern Khmer folk, as Keo has degrees in Business Administration and Teaching English as a Foreign Language. She is of a rare type in modern Cambodia where there aren't as many girls who attend Secondary School in Cambodia as there are boyss (a 1:3 ratio). Rather than share a picture of her, I will show you a link where you can learn more about Keo Kalyan and why her presence is so refreshing and encouraging. So to learn more about this cute lady, visit "The new urban Cambodian woman: Keo Kaylan" on ThaRum.com.

Cambodian ladies are done... let's move on!

--- Laos ---
Time to salute my Laotian audience by talking about your country's lovely ladies. I think I have ever known only one person of Laotian descent.

Amy Chanthaphavong.

Amy Chanthaphavong is Laotian-American. She won Miss Asian-America in 2009, and was the first Laotian-American to win this honor. This is a video where she does a radio interview speaking in both Laotian and English (NOTE: You may need to turn up the volume):

Laotian lovelies have been covered, so it's time to go to another nation's lovely ladies.

--- Myanmar/Burma ---
I once had a Math teacher who is Burmese. Other than this, I know very little else about Myanmar/Burma. Whomever I feature will be mostly spontaneous and random. So here goes:

Swe Zin Phyo.

Swe Zin Phyo
^ from: cardinalbitchspecials.wordpress.com (best I could find) - The first Miss Myanmar/Burma since 1961 was the 2010 winner, Swe Zin Phyo.

Almost fifty years since the last Miss Myanmar was crowned, it was in 2010 when Swe Zin Phyo was crowned Miss Myanmar/Burma. The last one to win this honor was a woman named Myint Myint Khins, who won Miss Myanmar/Burma in 1961.

I may add some more Burmese beauties if I can find some.

Not done yet! There are more ladies from more nations to come. Make sure you're reading the full post. If you are not and if you love what you have read so far, why not continue your experience by clicking on "Read More?" Or of course, just move on if you are reading the full post.

--- Southeast Asia: Maritime ---

(THIS REGION: Malaysia, Brunei, Indonesia, Philippines, Singapore, and East Timor)

--- Philippines ---
There are more Filipino beauties other than Charice Pempengco and Sarah Geronimo. So let's see some more Filipino beauties! Or actually, let me make mention to them again.

Charice Pempengco.

Described by Keira Kang (from my "East Asian Beauties" post) as a "little girl with a big voice," (born: May 10, 1992) Charice Pempengco is a sensational singer. Her voice is so bold and powerful for such a lovely Filipino girl like Charice. This singer has also done some acting as part of the hit FOX show, Glee. I think she may definitely represent the future of the music industry. Especially if Charice can become a really international star, she may go down as one of the finest singers in the world from the Philippines. Want to hear Charice sing? Have a listen to "It Can Only Get Better":

Have you read my blog post on Charice Pempengco yet? If you have not read it (and would like to), please visit "Charice Pempengco" here on John's Blog Space.

Sarah Geronimo.

Sarah Geronimo is a young singer who is very beautiful in looks and in singing. She is often called as the Popstar Princess. To me, though, she's a beautiful goddess with a divine voice and divine singing talent. Don't believe me? Hear for yourself with "How Can You Love Me":

My blog post on Sarah Geronimo can be read here: "Sarah Geronimo" on John's Blog Space.

Elizabeth Naluz.

Elizabeth Naluz
^ from: finefilipinas.com (best I could find) - Pinay Playboy princess Elizabeth Naluz.

The focus has shifted from two lovely Filipino ladies to a very sexy Filipino. This young Pinay princess is Elizabeth Naluz. She stands 5'8" and models for Playboy Philippines. Elizabeth Naluz is make-your-girlfriend/wife-jealous beautiful and hot.

Maria Venus Raj (Facebook Fan Page).

As the winner of Miss Universe Philippines 2010, Maria Venus Bayonito Raj proudly represents her fellow Filipinos on a global level. She has luscious curves and is incredibly beautiful. The (born: July 7, 1988)-year old is from Naga City, Philippines. Slim, slender, and sexy. What more could you want? This video shows off this goddess:

Total goddess, right?

Vanessa Minnillo.

Born in the Philippines, (November 9, 1980)-year old Vanessa Minnillo is a Pinay princess whom I've first heard of back in the days of MTV's "Total Request Live." This video showcases this beautiful Pinay:

Best wishes to her in whatever she's working on these days.

Anna Maria Perez de Taglé.

Anna Maria Perez de Taglé was someone I first heard of from a girls' show called "Cake." She played as Miracle Ross on this crafts show for girls. The Filipino-American actress has also done some singing aside from her acting. Have a listen to her singing:

My old blog post on this young lady can be read at "Anna Maria Perez de Taglé" here on John's Blog Space.

Philippines: YouTube Focus
Time to note some Pinay princesses on YouTube here.

Natalie (NDTitanLady).

The beautiful Natalie D. (or "Nat") is a young Filipino girl who has one of the hottest YouTube channels. She is one of my biggest inspirations on YouTube for her massive popularity. Same goes for how she's been featured on multiple websites. So she inspires me on YouTube because I know I could reach a level of popularity like she has if I keep providing quality content. Her channel is none other than "NDTitanLady." Hailing from Riverside, California, USA; Natalie produces entertaining videos where she incorporates her unique sense of humor. Besides making great videos, she also enjoys rock climbing at rock climbing gyms as a sport. This was one of the first videos of hers that I got to see and enjoy when I first learned of her:

(A possible blog post on her is something I'm not ruling out in the future.)

Aubrey (Fafinettex3).

Hailing from Virginia, Aubrey is a beauty blogger who expertly shares her wisdom and knowledge of beauty and beauty products. She also often times shares certain outfits she puts together on her YouTube channel, Fafinettex3.
This video is a sample of Aubrey's knowledge of beauty. Here is your chance to gauge her sense of style:

You can visit "Fafinettex3" on YouTube to see her latest videos. She also does fashion videos and even some fashion haul videos.

Philippines: Blogger Focus
Now, I'll feature a few bloggers.

Joana Erica Danielle (or Ericaritish).

The journey through life is a tough one. Joana Erica Danielle (or "Ericaritish") has a variety of blog posts. You may remember I've made mention to her in some of my blog posts. This Filipino is an aspiring author, and I want her to become that celebrated author because she means so much to me both as a friend and as an inspiration. She is a very lovely lady, so I have to feature her in this post. Be sure to visit "Ericaritish" right here on Blogger/Blogspot to see her latest posts!

Dina Vanessa Mercado.

"Voguely Van" creator Vanessa is a fashion blogger from Manila, Philippines. The young lady came across John's Blog Space" and loved my content. I have since been a fan of hers since seeing her own blog. This cute girl has many different styles expressed. I invite you fashion lovers to visit "Voguely Van" on Blogger/Blogspot to check out her latest blog posts and to take a look at her style.

Joanna Ladrido.

(added: Sep. 21, 2011) Joanna Ladrido is a young fashion blogger whose style can easily range from chic to tough. She doesn't play by any fashion rules, and most of her outfit posts are unlike what you may see in most other fashion blogs. "Only the Marvelous" is the name of her blog. That is not only the name, but she also lives by the name of her blog by featuring a mutlitude of exceptional looks. This Filipino fashionista is simply, well... marvelous. You'll agree if you like what you see at "Only the Marvelous."

--- Indonesia ---
Indonesian ladies are up next. All I can say is that a good majority of the ones featured represent various Indonesian fashion bloggers.

Glory Rosary Oyong.

Glory Rosary Oyung
^ from: beritadaerah.com - Glory Rosary Oyung's beauty made the grade in 2008, winning Miss World University Indonesia that year.

Qory Sandioriva.

The 2009 winner of Miss Indonesia (Puteri Indonesia) is one Qory Sandioriva. The (born: August 17, 1991)-year old from Jakarta is currently the youngest to win Puteri Indonesia (she was 18 in her 2009 triumph), and not to mention the only one from the Indonesian province of Nanggroe Aceh Darussalam to win Puteri Indonesia. This video showcases this young lady:

Indonesia: Blogger Focus
Here are some lovely Indonesian ladies in the blogosphere. Check it:

Chekka Cuomova (Chekka Cuomova).

Chekka Cuomova was one of the first Indonesian fashion bloggers I've come across after seeing one of her posts on an online forum. Most of her fashions are very chic and creative. You can visit the Jakarta native's pictures and blog posts by going to Chekka Cuomova here on Blogger/Blogspot.

Michelle Koesnadi (Glisters and Blisters).

Michelle Koesnadi has one of the best fashion blogs on the Internet- "Glisters and Blisters." This young Indonesian lady has a combination of lovely fashion outfits and breathtaking photo shoots. You really have to see her material to enjoy and appreciate how beautiful she is. On a few rare occasions, she even does some YouTube videos. This one is very old:

She doesn't do many videos, but if you're interested in seeing her videos, check out "mkoesnadi" on YouTube. Please... do NOT forget to visit "Glisters and Blisters" here on Blogger/Blogspot!

Veren Lee (.a little princess.).

Veren Lee is one of the cutest bloggers online. Her blog is called ".a little princess." The style expressed by her is very cute (and sometimes adorable). It is a blog I became interested in when I saw a comment she posted to another blog. I then became a fan of ".a little princess." Nothing super-chic or super appealing- just some really cute fashions from this teenage blogger. There are also a few videos she does, though she hasn't done any lately. Here is a video featuring Veren (including how to pronounce "Veren"):

Last call... visit ".a little princess." today!

This covers various lovelies from Indonesia. Why don't we move on to the next one?

--- Singapore ---
Singapore is a very lovely place. This sovreign state has many lovely views besides the lovely merlion statues.

Tila Nguyen (Tila Tequila).

Whether you love her or loathe her, Tila Tequila is certainly worthy of being featured in this blog post since she was born in Singapore. Also like it or not, she's really the only true Asian superstar in American media. I best recall Tila flipping through the pages of magazines like Super Street Magazine seeing her in advertisements and pictures. She also gained some fame from the reality TV scene with "A Shot at Love with Tila Tequila." It was a bisexual dating show. According to Tila, however, she is straight. Her kissing of other women (according to her) shows that love takes many forms. She's also been pretty much into the go-go dancing scene long ago. No matter what, Tila is still a beautiful lady and the only real Asian superstar (controversial or not) in American media. Here's a sip of Tila Tequila right here:

Please drink responsibly. :)

Jessica Gomes.

Half-Singaporean (Chinese) and half-Portuguese; Jessica Gomes is more than qualified to be among the Singaporean beauties. The (born: September 25, 1985)-year old was born in Perth, Western Australia, Australia and stands 5'9". Get a taste of this beauty by checking out this video:

Rachel Kum.

Singapore native Rachel Kum won Miss Singapore 2009. Despite this accolade, she's also been infamous for scandalous photos of her for which fans think she should be stripped of her 2009 title.

IN CASE YOU'RE INTERESTED: Some of the questionable pictures of Rachel Kum can be seen here in this blog: "Miss Singapore 'Scandal' - Rachael Kum's Racy Pictures," on Beauty in Pageants.

Wendy Cheng (Xiaxue).

Xiaxue is one of the oldest blogs I follow. This beautiful Singaporean lady named Wendy Cheng is a blogging veteran with some blog posts on the Blogger/Blogspot interface since 2003. Xiaxue is certainly a blogging veteran. And also, she is very beautiful. Her work also extends into videos on YouTube. Check out Wendy's lovely blog by visiting "Xiaxue," or see her YouTube channel called "TheXiaxue".

These are women as beautiful as Singapore.

--- Malaysia ---
To avoid confusion, I have included Malaysia here rather than one be about mainland Malaysia and the other about Malaysia at sea. If you're Malaysian, you're Malaysian. So here are some of Malaysia's lovely ladies.

Nadine Ann Thomas (Facebook Fan Page).

Nadine Ann Thomas
^ from: beautybodybrain.com - Nadine Ann Thomas- Miss Malaysia Universe 2010 winner.

The winner of Miss Malaysia Universe 2010 is Nadine Ann Thomas. The Malaysian was born to a Chinese/British mother and an Indian father in Subang Jaya, Malaysia. Her background is very sports-oriented along with some piano playing skill. She is an alum of Limkokwing University (which is also where one of my online friends goes to, and she's a beautiful Malaysian herself). In this video, Nadine did a video for Men's Health. Here is her interview with Men's Health:

She also has a Blogger/Blogspot blog, but it hasn't been updated for a long time. You can still have a look at it by visiting nadineannthomas.blogspot.com.

There may be more I may add to this section in the future. For now, though, those are Malaysian beauties.

--- Brunei ---
Finally, I present to you a lady or two from the State of Brunei. Brunei is a very interesting place as I've noted I sometimes get blog hits from Brunei.

Mimi Rahzia.

Mimi Rahzia is the only Bruneian beauty I can pull up. This is also the only material I could use in showing you the beautiful Mimi Rahzia:

Even though it hasn't been updated in a long while, Mimi has her own blog. Visit the Bruneian beauty's blog at "My Diary MIMI RAHZIA".

My knowledge of Brunei is still very poor. Perhaps there may be some beautiful Brunei women I may not know about besides Mimi Rahzia.

--- Southeast Asian Beauties: Uncategorized ---

I reserved this one specifically for someone whom I was unable to categorize. So here you go:

Brenda Song.

Brenda Song is Hmong-Thai-American. I've had a tough time trying to put her in a certain category since Hmong encompasses a vast array of nationalities in Southeast Asia. So I reserved this section to mention only Brenda Song. The (born: March 27, 1988)-year old native of Carmichael, California, USA has a Hmong (meaning any of China, Vietnam, Laos, and/or Thailand) father and a Thai mother. Brenda Song is mostly famous for her acting on the Disney Channel. Brenda Song is not only her name, but Brenda Song has done some singing before. Here is a sample of the Asian-American cutie singing "Girl Like Me.":

By the way... I read she is Brenda Xiong, but (and according to Wikipedia) the surname was changed to "Song" when Brenda's paternal parents immigrated to the United States. Also, "Xiong" means "Song." My old blog post on Brenda Song can be read by clicking on "Brenda Song" here on John's Blog Space.

These are among some of many Southeast Asian beauties. I may update this blog (and others) every now and then to make edits and update it with new content. I actually exposed myself more to certain new styles of music. That especially holds true hearing Vietnamese pop in preparing this blog post. To me, doing posts like these helps me understand other people better. Always best to learn more about the world we live in and the people within this world. There were a few more I could add, but I may save those for a future "Beauties"-themed blog post.

The next post in this "Asian Beauties" series will relate to beautiful women of South Asia. Thank you for reading!

Blogging Motivation

My Attempt to Motivate You to Become a Blogger. Fellow Bloggers Can Become Better Bloggers Through This Post.

(UPDATED: October 15, 2011)

Some people love blogging; others don't. Some enjoy blogging for what it is, but some others don't really know/care what makes blogging great. I've taken on this challenge because I've grown fond of blogging and enjoy what I do. To show my love of blogging, I decided to post this blog entry to offer my thoughts on blogging and some of the different issues I sometimes see people have when blogging.

This blog post tackles blogging issues and ideas people have. In no way are any of my blogs (including this one) any serious successes. These are just opinions of mine to help express points the way only I can. The main goal of this blog post is to motivate other bloggers to enjoy blogging and all the nuances of blogging. I want more people to enjoy this lovely hobby/profession called blogging, and I want to do so by offering my own personal insight.

--- Why I Blog ---

blogging love
^ from: blogging4jobs.com - I "heart" blogging! Do you, too?

Why do I blog? That's what you're going to find out in this section. Perhaps this will encourage you to blog more or better enjoy blogging.

I blog because I like expressing myself. I might have developed my blogging interests by seemingly typing a lot of letters and words endlessly until I have enough to post anything that makes even remotely makes sense. So you can say that I make a "wall of text" to become something that becomes a blog post (or a post for an online forum). It may not seem realistic to begin a blog post like this, but as it is said- diff'rent strokes for diff'rent folks. With all due respect to Blogger/Blogspot offering their "Blog This!" tool, I prefer typing up loads of text rather than randomly post links to certain sites to make blog posts. I have no problem doing a lot of typing. I've done this for years; what makes now any different?

Why do I prefer telling stuff through typing on a keyboard rather than writing stuff into a notebook? It's personal preference. I am more into typing than I am writing. Also, I can use technology to better correct errors than have to rely on dictionaries and such. I am in the realm of online media because it is the only medium for which I feel I can contribute something in my life to other people. It is the medium I feel most comfortable working with. I've lived a sad life, and so the realm of blogging and making videos are my two highest callings. And so... I make the most of all I've got.

All I have is a high school diploma and an Associate's in the Arts. Never worked for anybody's job. Considering how many gray areas there are in pursuing my past dreams of a Bachelor's Degree in Broadcasting and Journalism, I decided that I concentrate more on blogging and making online videos. I feel this is what I can most contribute to and work towards just about every day. Also, I had planned on being an entrepreneur in trying to map out what I thought would be my road through college. It may just turn out that I become fond of and engage in blogging and videos. I always say my work is "casually professional." For everyone new to me and my online work, "casually professional" means that I do my work casually, but with a professional mindset. I feel obligated and have responsibilities of giving my online audience something to read and enjoy every time I post something to the Internet. I have no problem sitting on my bed in my room typing up text to post online. When I am really in the zone, I enjoy typing up material to publish online for my international audience. Also, all of my content is completely original. I don't copy-and-paste from other sources just to make my blog posts. I do post pictures from other websites while making sure to give credit. Even in my old blog posts, I am editing them to include picture credits and proper captions for them.

Oh, THAT is another reason why I blog- because I'm on the Internet, and people use the Internet. You have to think like a catering business. Caterers provide food for whatever audience is being serviced. Do you want to feed your finest material to your consumers, or do you want to sell your consumers short by offering material less than acceptable? You see, I am a caterer to the entire online world. Over 170 nations have visited my blog since I started keeping tabs on how many different nations and countries visit. On my best days, I get blog hits from as many as 20 or 30 countries daily. An international audience is important to me because it means that people around the world find something to appreciate about my blogging work.

I have too many obligations and responsibilities as a blogger. These reasons alone are the biggest reasons why I blog. I am happy when others are happy with my work.

--- How Should I Blog? ---

There are three kinds of blogs based on the majority of content:

OPTION 1: My Blog is Mostly Text-Driven.

Most of my blog posts involve a lot of reading. I was never a good student, and especially not a good reader or formal writer. I do still prefer typing lots of material because that is what I am most comfortable doing in expressing points in blog posts. If you have the time to type things up, feel free to type stuff up. From an efficiency standpoint, text-driven blogs load faster than those that rely on pictures and other embedded media.

OPTION 2: My Blog is Mostly Picture-Driven.

Usually among fashion blogs (for example), the dependency is on pictures to express points and tell stories. You'll need to be part of some sort of picture-hosting service (like Picasa, Flickr, Photobucket, ImageShack, etc.) to share your own pictures. Or, you'll have to rely mostly on pictures from other sites. The problem with pictures from other sites is that pictures may be copyrighted. If you try to use them, you may get your embedded image blocked.

OPTION 3: My Blog is Mostly Driven by Both Text and Pictures.

Use text to set the tone of a blog post. Use pictures to help express points from text better. My blog is a lot more along the lines of this feature. I rely more on text than images. Though, I use images to better describe items and add some substance to posts. I just don't rely on pictures to tell points. I prefer text because I prefer to be understood when I talk about something. You can say, then, that I use pictures and video in moderation unless the blog post is clearly driven by pictures and video.

So what kind of blogging suits you best? Consider one of the following and build your blog accordingly.

I will now address common blogging complaints I see people have. Click "Read More" if you are not reading the full blog post, or disregard this section if you are.

--- Responses to Common Blogging Quotes/Complaints ---

Each heading to this section refers to a common comment or complaint about blogging. I want to answer these issues by offering my own comments. Maybe I can help you to enjoy blogging more as well as change some of your perceptions of blogging. Key word: MAYBE. It will be up to you whether ot not to accept my advice/suggestions or not.

"I need to blog often."

You can blog daily, weekly, or even monthly... if you want you to. The only time I think you should be concerned about blogging often is if you represent some company or if you HAVE to blog often because it's part of your job. It is not the end of the world just because you don't blog every day. You want to blog REGULARLY, then. Don't, however, take too much time away from blogging to where people feel like they've seen everything and don't have any more use trying to visit.

There is no argument I hate more than the good old (sarcastic) "living online." This is the feeling that nobody knows about you because you're only online. I thought about this as I look at my Facebook fan page. The only thing close to an accurate description of me is "Public Figure." However, only family and friends of mine know and have seen me. So since I am only known online to most people, I sometimes think about trying to expand my "Public Figure" some more to where I become better recognized and respected.

And it isn't like I am invited to speak at conventions and at other places around Houston. It isn't like I have booking agents or anything to make these things happen. I am not really sociable either, so I often don't accept event requests to go to various places on Myspace or Facebook. I do wish I can come across more people who actually read my blog and enjoy my work. It is sad to say that when you live in a city of about 5.6 million people like Houston is, and only so few actually read and respect your work. It is not like I am any celebrity figure. Maybe that's a by-product of being low-key.

"Blogging is taking over my life."

Take me- I'm not in college (not sure if I want to return to college to get a Bachelor's), I don't have a job... so the only thing I can positively contribute to the world are my YouTube videos and my blog posts. So blogging IS my life. I sit at home typing up material to post online for people to (hopefully) read. Do you think I seem bored that I don't really have much else to do with my life?

Don't blog as often if you think blogging is taking over your life. Just blog whenver you like rather than feel like you have to post something new every day. Also, it helps to blog when there's something you actually and honestly want to share. Don't just post anything random. Put some thought into posts and use a combination of text and pictures/video (if you choose to include pictures and video for your posts) and let your creativity shine.

Blogging: Hobby vs. Profession.

Blogging is a hobby for me, but I take it professionally. I do this with a professional mindset because I have an obligation to service my international audience with quality content. I feel every blog post of mine has to serve some sort of merit or good prior to release. That is something else about blogging- I do NOT post random posts. I don't post something just to get cheap attention. Some people post material for attention anyways. That's why lots of material become wildly successful. Maybe I am TOO professional- to where I don't really have fun with what I do to where I feel happy releasing something. Basically, I am trying to avoid being famous for something other than good. Bloggers who feel like their work is so good that it is profitable, those are the ones who at least go with Adsense at the very least. Even still, I care more about offering material to the masses than making money online.

I take my blog like a hobby; execute it like a profession. My job is to impress you with my own thoughts and mindset on things. I work alone for the most part because I feel I am the person best qualified to push my material the farthest. Because I work alone, I decide what I want to blog about next and when to release a post on it. I am under no pressure by anybody else to post something to make them happy. I work on my own schedule and march to the beat of my own drum. However, I do value my loyal readers to offer their input of my work. Some loyal readers even contact me via Facebook and even my email address to make edits or discuss certain things.

Blogging is both a hobby and a profession for me. I may have Adsense and Amazon Associates, but I really profit from readers reading my material and sharing my material with the world.

"Hardly anyone reads/cares about my blog."

You know how much I call my blog as an "international blog?" Part of the reason is because I regularly get hits all over the world every day to my blog. The reason why I enjoy talking about an international audience is because people the world over actually hit my blog. On certain instances, a country that rarely visits my blog sometimes shows up. I am happy when more people visit from around the world. While I love my own American audience as well as a Canadian audience, I am more interested in having an international audience. I want to know if my material can be loved in other nations in addition to my own. Some days, there are more American hits than hits in some other nations. I sometimes have a lot of people within the United Kingdom and continental Europe (mostly central Europe) visit. Regardless, I do get a fair share of international hits based on reports I read on my blog online. Some other blogs with FEEDJIT (or some other service) have certain blog hits that the least recent hit was either a day or two ago. My blog is doing well getting traffic when the least recent blog hit is no older than three hours ago.

"I'm a bad blogger."

People often say this because they don't post often. Please- you are NOT a bad blogger because of this! You are only a bad blogger if you don't post from the heart. You are a bad blogger if you simply care more about spamming the Internet with spam rather than with something useful. Again- blog whenever you feel like on whatever you feel like. You are NOT a bad blogger just because you don't post in a while. Please don't say that. Think of bloggers who just post a bunch of random crap, expecting people to care. Think of bloggers who copy other peoples' content and pass it off as their own (plagiarism). THOSE are the bad bloggers.

There are friends of mine in the blogosphere that I wish would get more people to read and enjoy. It isn't because they are friends, but because I want them to have a much-visited blog. Basically to offer peace of mind. Let me share with you a blog of a respected friend of mine online.

--- A Quick Shout Out ---
One of my blogging friends is a young Filipino girl own blog called "Ericaritish." The young blogger has aspirations of becoming a writer. The issues in her blog mostly pertain to life issues as well as questioning certain aspects of life. She regards my own work highly, and so I want you to read Ericaritish. Making note of one of my blogging friends is proof that my work means things to people. People value my work and see me as an inspiration. I appreciate you following and reading my blog, but do me a favor if you will. Because my friend values my work, I want you to offer her blog some traffic. So please visit Ericaritish right here on Blogger/Blogspot and help support this young friend of mine whom has writing aspirations.

Of course, many other blogs I have love and respect for are featured in my blog roll in the sidebar, including Ericaritish. If Ericaritish is reading this post, I want to thank you for your words in your blog post called "Reformation" on Ericaritish. Much appeciated.

"I've lost interest in blogging."

Every one of us have callings and varying levels of interest in all we do. Not everyone can blog often, nor do they have the desire to continually post material on a consistent basis. That's perfectly fine. I have actually lost interest in making videos for personal reasons. I have not, however, discontinued YouTube. It means I still enjoy what I do and just await the proper opportunity to return to something I've previously devoted to.

You may have read a Famous Person blog post I did regarding "thatjapanesegirl" on YouTube. She's a video blogger (or vlogger), and she seldom contributes to her Blogger/Blogspot blog here. I mentioned to her that she should make videos while offering extra commentary in blog posts. Some just don't have the interest or the endurance to blog. That's okay. How much does blogging mean to you? Do you feel you have an audience credible enough and important enough to you to continue blogging? If so, try to blog more often. Losing interest is a perfectly human deal. Just be sure to come back to blogging when YOU feel ready to do so.

If you enjoy blogging and do it well, just remembering you have fans should be enough motivation to continue blogging. Remember- don't alienate your fan base or sell them short. Keep your readers interested. If people had the time and patience to read my longer blog posts, then I know there are people willing to read through all of my blog posts as well as visit any links I supplement.

"I am not profiting (financially) from my work."

Only worry about this if you consider your blogging to be so important that making money is a priority about your blogging. Otherwise, keep up the good work blogging from the heart. It takes other people to really see something in your blogging work to where you actually generate revenue. One site I strongly recommend you check out if you are serious about profiting from your work is www.problogger.net. I don't consider any money aspect of blogging because I care more about expressing myself in blog posts than profiting.

If you do use certain services for which to make money for your blogging work, be sure to follow all guidelines to avoid being in violation. But again- only care about this issue if making money is of equal or greater importance to you than posting blog entries. This includes services like Adsense, Amazon Associates, Chitika, Nuffnang, and services like that.

Two services to go with to be safe are Adsense and Amazon Associates. Adsense simply allows you to post ads in your blog based on traffic. Be sure to follow all guidelines in adding Adsense to your blog or website to avoid being in violation. Only consider Amazon Associates if you want to offer items to your readers based on content in your blog. Also, Amazon Associates is more recommended if you specifically do product reviews and things like that.

"I am not getting as much engagement and involvement."

This is a problem I honestly face. As much as I get traffic to my posts, not as many people want to comment on my work. I do benefit from using a variety of add-ons for my blog. Here are some of the many things I use:

LinkWithin is a big boost in providing related readings for my blog posts. Unfortunately, I wish I had better control over thumbnails for blog posts.

• DISQUS is better for commenting than Blogger's/Blogspot's default system. I am, however, facing an issue where I receive suspicious comments (yet legitimate ones) where someone posts a blog entry simply by searching something similar to "blog comments powered by DISQUS." I have been warning people that I am starting to crack down somewhat on suspicious comments where someone just posts a comment to one of my blog posts by searching "blog comments powered by DISQUS" or something similar. And if ANY post has a suspicious link attached, I will delete that comment no matter how legitimate the comment is and block the user who posted the comment. I appreciate all comments; I'm just cracking down on certain suspicious ones. (my DISQUS blog post)

• I recently enabled StumbleUpon so people can use the popular service to share my content on StumbleUpon. And... if you're interested, StumbleUpon me at

• The wibiya wibar is great in allowing my visitors to access other parts of my site as well as enjoy using other things to make the site more accessible. (My wibiya blog post) However, I've recently retired wibiya for John's Blog Space.

• I feed my blog through Twitter using Twitterfeed. The same material is fed to my Facebook Wall and my Facebook Fan Page's Wall. NetworkedBlogs is also utilized exclusively to my Facebook Fan Page's Wall. I am considering using something different to post my material to my Facebook profile page's Wall.

These are only a few things to consider in trying to get more involvement. I've even set up a newsletter that I seldom send to my readers.

One last resource... it won't help you get more blog involvement, but I have been using NoteTab to make preparing blog posts MUCH easier. I am taking code from Blogger/Blogspot to use in making my own code to make my own blog posts without needing to rely on using Blogger's/Blogspot's interface as I type. To learn more about NoteTab, visit my blog post about NoteTab.

Don't just visit my blog and read a post- get involved! Don't be shy! Post a comment on anything you like (just remember- no spam, personal attacks, etc.). Share my blog post(s) with others. Subscribe to my blog if you haven't done so. Follow my blog with Google FriendConnect. If you have Facebook, PLEASE "like" my Facebook fan page. I provide ALL of this for all of you because I want more involvement from my readers. If there's something I need to edit that I'm not aware of- contact me. If you enjoyed the blog or a blog post, let me know by posting a comment. Let me explain something- I follow about 180 blogs as of this blog post. The ratio of blogs I follow to people who follow John's Blog Space is like... 33/180. So as many visitors as I get daily to my blog, only so few actually follow my work. This is sad to me. Either I have to do more to get more Followers, or not as many people love my work enough to where I have more followers than I really should for my work. Then too, that also explains why I don't get as many YouTube videos and not enough subscribers (though 385 or so is not bad for going on 2.5 years on YouTube). For some odd reason, I just can't get as many Facebook fans, Google Followers, or YouTube subscribers. My work is loved, but not loved enough to get more followers and fans. It's sad...

If I find any more common quotes/complaints/problems people make about blogging, I'll post and respond to them in future edits. Hopefully, my insight has helped you to blog more often and enjoy blogging. I enjoy what I do despite my flaws and shortcomings. I hope you find it in yourself to start or continue blogging for as long as you like. Most important thing to remember-

Don't blog just to put yourself out there; blog because you want to do this long-term and because you love sharing your mind through the means of blogging.
