(UPDATED: February 15, 2012)
The Jeremy Kyle Show is a show that has been around for some time in its native England. The show has debuted an American version in September 2011. How would I describe Jeremy Kyle? Well, think of someone with Maury's class but with Judge Judy's no-nonsense. He is unbiased and passionate towards trying to help families and couples in crisis. However, he does it an unapologetic manner. This is someone who will confront his guests straight up to convince them to change their brutal ways. While some may deem him as being controversial and too arrogant in his approach to help others, Jeremy Kyle is doing something that matters more than anything- getting results and resolution.
Here is a look at the Jeremy Kyle show. This one is the American sneak peek:
And this is a sample of The Jeremy Kyle Show in the United Kingdom:
Finally, here is a video of Jeremy Kyle on The Wendy Williams Show; where Jeremy Kyle explains his show to others. Here is a more lighthearted Jeremy Kyle expressed in this video:
Now you know about Jeremy Kyle and his show. I mentioned he's like the combination of Maury and Judge Judy. He is someone outspoken and to the point. No distractions or tomfoolery gets in his way to get through to people who need help. I speak respectfully of Jeremy Kyle, but many have considered him controversial for how he deals his brand of justice and resolution on his show.
(ADDED: January 19, 2012; EDITED: Febuary 15, 2012)
I really have to say that Jeremy Kyle (who is nicknamed "Jezza") is probably the ONLY daytime talk show host where guests are unafraid to get on the host's case. Very few hosts get hated on by guests quite like what Jeremy Kyle does. You have to see some of the British shows to see how some of the British guests have treated this guy.
I respect Jeremy Kyle because he is someone who is tell-it-like-it-is, but also someone impervious to other peoples' crap. He represents a brand of justice and resolution that is difficult to grasp at first glance. I think it is something he passionately believes in. I also respect his stance on not believing in violence or arguing to get in the way of resolving matters. In fact, there are times where he could just take people off the stage or out of the studio who refuse to be helped or are so full or problems that they can't be helped. Jeremy Kyle has the ability to get through to people in his own way. In one video piece, he mentions that others have deemed him all kinds of negative things, he claims he is just being honest.
A reason why you should care about this show is that this show is that The Jeremy Kyle Show is because it involves resolution. I guess Jeremy Kyle's mindset is about getting results and resolution. Dr. Janet Taylor is a big part in the department of helping guests start anew. Her insight and expertise helps in trying to help others. The Jeremy Kyle Show is all about trying to resolve matters in a mature matter. He really is about focusing on the task at hand rather than let silly nonsense get in the way.
Most of my blog posts are usually detailed. Here, I am just posting this one rather quickly because I didn't intend on being too detailed on this show.
Basically, I respect Jeremy Kyle for how he does his show and the results he can garner. The show's primary daytime TV opposition will mostly be Maury and Steve Wilkos, and maybe Bill Cunningham as well. Be sure to check local times and listings in case you want to see The Jeremy Kyle Show on American TV.

South Asian Beauties
(UPDATED: April 9, 2012)
Asian beauties of and from South Asian nations will be featured here in this continuation of my "Asian Beauties" series. Ladies from India, Sri Lanka, Maldives, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Nepal, and Bhutan will be featured here. I want to honor all of my South Asian visitors to my blog. I hope this blog post will be to your liking, as well as to the liking of all people not from the aforementioned countries.
Now as of this initial blog post, I was not sure whether to make a separate post regarding Middle Eastern nations or how to actually define South Asia for this blog post. Sometimes, I go on official definitions some people give to certain parts of the world in making up my blog posts.
WARNING: This post contains several YouTube videos, which may hinder your viewing experience of this blog post.
Once the series is complete, you may link to any of the following through the list below. Here is a look at the Asian Beauties series:
--- ASIAN BEAUTIES SERIES ---
• East Asian Beauties
• Southeast Asian Beauties
• South Asian Beauties
• Central Asian Beauties (possible?)
I may plan on doing Middle Eastern beauties separately. Either that, or I may include another blog post in this Asian beauty series to feature Middle Eastern ladies. I am actually not sure how I want to address the South Asia or Middle Eastern beauties at this moment.
This post wasn't too much a challenge compared to Southeast Asia. However, I eventually want to try my hand at discussing Middle Eastern beauties. Information on some of the featured ladies were tough to come by. So instead of trying to hunt for pictures and videos, I simply just make mention to them and maybe offer a link if you're interested.
• India: women from and of Indian descent.
• Pakistan: women from and of Pakistani descent.
• Sri Lanka: women from and of Sri Lankan descent.
• Maldives: women from and of Maldivian descent.
• Nepal: women from and of Nepalese/Nepali descent.
• Bangladesh: women from and of Bangladeshi descent.
• Bhutan: women from and of Bhutani descent.
If you see a hypertext heading for each featured beauty, you can click on it to visit their official home page or some sort of fan page.
So let's get started! Some information on featured people were provided by Wikipedia searches. I may only make mention to certain ladies if I can't find pictures, websites, or videos on each featured lady. Don't forget that I may edit this post from time to time to update my material. I am not including certain images for fear of copyright infringement.
Here is one last look at the aforementioned region:
(THIS REGION: Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka)
Now let's talk beautiful women!
If you see a hypertext link within the header of a certain lady, that links you to the lady's official website or a fan page. Fan pages will be noted in parentheses.
That video was from her own YouTube channel. Want to see more of her videos? Find this Indian beauty on YouTube at youtube.com/PriyankaChopra.

(ADDED: November 23, 2011)
In my initial blog post, I absolutely forgot to mention this lady I blogged about once. Sometimes, I think too much about forgetting to include certain things. One of those was Aarti Sequeira. (Born: August 19, 1978)-year old Aarti Sequeira is a Indian beauty born in Mumbai, India; and she was raised in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. She was a contestant of "The Next Food Network Star" Season 6. I always thought she was a humble and sweet person though I've never seen a single episode of "The Next Food Network Star." I have, however, seen "Aarti Party" on Food Network before. Aarti showcases Indian cuisine as well as add an Indian twist to various foods and meals. Away from cooking, Aarti is both an inspiration and a beautiful woman. Aarti Sequeira went from taking various cooking lessons and not knowing where her life would lead next... to being the host of her own cooking show on Food Network by winning "The Next Food Network Star." She went from hosting her own cooking show on YouTube to hosting a cooking show for people to watch on TV. Her mantra to the world: "Eat. Giggle. Repeat."
IN CASE YOU'RE INTERESTED: This is my old blog post on Aarti Sequeira: "Aarti Sequeira" on John's Blog Space.

^ from: connect.in.com - The lovely, yet controversial Veena Malik.
While Veena Malik is a lovely lady (otherwise... why would she be in a "Beauties" post of mine?), controversy arose as this Pakistani actress was given lukewarm reception from her own Pakistani audience for how she portrayed Pakistan in the fourth season of "Bigg Boss." She was born Zahida Malik and is a native of Rawalpindi, Pakistan (northern Pakistan, near the Pakistani capital of Islamabad). Many have either loved or loathed Veena for her character and her views.

Hopefully, I can find more Maldivian ladies to feature in the future. I feel like I'm doing you all wrong by not featuring more ladies from the Maldives. Unfortunately, she was not among the top 10 of the 2000 Miss World pageant as Priyanka Chopra (whom you've read about earlier) won Miss World 2000.Farhana Mili (Facebook Fan Page).
No Bangladeshi beauty boasts such a cute face and a sweet smile like Farhana Mili. This actress from Dhaka, Bangladesh is known for her role in "Monpura." She says in her Facebook fan page that she is gives new hope for the Bangladeshi film industry.Purnima.
Purnima (also known as Rita) is an actress from Bangladesh was born in 1981 in the southeastern Bangladesh city of Chittagong. She was a blessing for a 1997 movie called "E Jibon Tombar Amar," where Purnima began her acting career. Purnima would become a fixture in many Bangladeshi films and Bengali films, including the vastly successful "Moner Majhe Tumi" in 2003. A gallery of images of Purnima can be seen here: "Bangladeshi Actress Purnima" on www.bdactress.com.Nipun (Facebook Fan Page).

Born in Dhaka, Bangladesh; Nipun is one of many actresses featured in this blog post. She has been in movies, including "Pitar Ashon" among others.
Banna Mirza.
Banna Mirza is an actress who is told to be the best acting talent Bangladesh has to offer. Over a decade's worth of acting has been done by this actress. Most of this includes a lot of mainstream TV acting and various acting roles in Bengali cinema. I am sorry I can't find any good pictures of Banna Mirza to feature in my post. :(This will conclude the Bangladesh portion of this blog post.
--- South Asian Beauties: Bhutan ---
Bhutan is known as the Land of the Thunder Dragon, it's time I talk about some of Bhutan's most electrifying and beautiful ladies. It's a look at some of the most beautiful women from Bhutan. When I got my first blog hit from Bhutan, I was interested about this country since I have had very little knowledge of it. It's a very fascinating place to me. Very beautiful. Hello to all readers from Bhutan as well as all of you Bhutani folk.Tsokye Tsomo Karchung.
In 2008, Tsokye Karchung of Thimphu, Bhutan (the capital of Bhutan) competed in Miss Earth. She was born on August 20, 1984 and stands 5'8". Her birth name is Tsokye Tsomo Karchung. This music video is a look at the Miss Earth 2008 winner:Namkha Lhamo.
Namkha Lhamo is a beautiful singer from Bhutan. I learned that she is also an actress as well as an acting teacher. Do you want to hear Bhutanese music? Let Namkha Lhamo provide you with Bhutanese music. This song is called "Gayser Jang Lu Jonpi Gang." Here, you can get a nice look at the beauty of Bhutan (including the beautiful Bhutanese lady singing this song):Any more lovely Bhutani ladies you want to make me aware of? If I find any more that I think are lovely, I will feature them in future edits.
--- A Note for All Readers ---
I had taken a break doing the Asian Beauties series of blog posts. Most of my selections for South Asian beauties was something I was not too educated on. One thing I always try to do is understand whatever it is I want to blog about to make something professional and worthwhile. It wouldn't be John's Blog Space, and none of my posts would be of JBS quality if I didn't produce something worth reading and enjoying. Are You From Any of the Aforementioned Countries?
If you are from any of the aforementioned countries in this blog post (Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka), I would like to send a special salute you and a special thank you to all of you for reading my blog post. I am trying to get as many loyal readers (those who neither spam nor post suspicious comments) and fans as possible to expand my international reading base as well as meet more people.I hope this post has helped in meeting more of you and getting a little more respect from an international audience.
I am pleased to keep doing these posts for all of you. Thank you for reading!

FL Studio Thoughts
I downloaded the FL Studio demo over the weekend. I wanted to see if I could make great music using FL Studio as opposed to making tracker music. I am also thinking of what version to buy to enjoy the full experience of FL Studio. This is just a quick blog post I wanted to put out there in regards to FL Studio. This is not a review or anything, I just wanted to share some quick thoughts in regards to FL Studio in trying to maybe get back into making music. If you're reading this and have used FL Studio, maybe you can help me better make my decision as to buy whatever version of FL Studio.

^ from: www.housemusicessentials.com - FL Studio logo.
FL Studio (formerly FruityLoops) allows music makers various tools to make great music. It was created by a Belgian company called Image-Line. The majority of content I've heard in YouTube videos are mostly electronic dance music songs using FL Studio. It can also be used for hip-hop and pop songs as well. For almost any sort of electronic music, users are armed to the hilt with various facilities and utilities to help make great music. Items such as VST instruments, hundreds of instrument samples, and more are all offered to users of FL Studio. Songs created can be put out in a number of different formats, including OGG, WAV, MP3, and more.
Playing around with FL Studio's demo has given me a somewhat limited view on what is possible using this program. Making music and making certain inputs seem simpler in this program aside from making tracker music in MadTracker 2. I haven't yet made a proper pattern and a proper song, but I'm working on it. I'm sure I will have enough experience to make great music if I choose to buy any version of FL Studio.
• FL Studio Express Edition - great for making music loops. No audio recording or piano roll.
• FL Studio Fruity Edition - great entry-level software for making songs. No audio recording.
• FL Studio Producer Edition - great for audio recording and post-production songs.
• FL Studio Signature Edition - the top-of-the-line program and most definitive version. That is... if you have nearly $300 USD to spare.
I am not sure what way to go with getting FL Studio. I mean, I'm considering getting the FL Studio Express version since it has most of what I am looking for in making music. However, I may want to get the almost $100 USD Fruity Edition just to have something solid for making music. The Fruity Edition is about the absolute maximum for me in making music. The offerings for the Producer and Signature editions are just too much for me. They are too much for me, and I doubt I have all the facilities and services to warrant use of anything higher than the Fruity Edition. So I'd be torn between the Express and Fruity editions.
Purchase of any edition gives you lifetime updates, so no more of having to pay for updates. Separate instruments and such for FL Studio can be purchased.

FL Studio and its Editions.
From the initial download of the FL Studio demo, you already have all you need to make great music with. All you have to do is either purchase for whatever version you want to get. There are four varieties of FL Studio, and here is about as much as I understand about each one:• FL Studio Express Edition - great for making music loops. No audio recording or piano roll.
• FL Studio Fruity Edition - great entry-level software for making songs. No audio recording.

Issues Regarding MTV's "16 and Pregnant"
One of MTV's latest hit reality TV series is "16 and Pregnant." This is a show basically chronicling the lives of teenage girls whom are dealing with being pregnant. It has given me an opportunity to think a bit more critically about some of the issues involving this show. I believe (don't know for sure) "16 and Pregnant" is a spinoff of "Teen Mom." I will be sure to express myself in my own way as I have done for 700+ blog posts here on "John's Blog Space."
NOTE: This blog post pertains to the show "16 and Pregnant" and is not a spinoff of my "Young and Pregnant" blog post.
WARNING: This blog post concerns a subject matter and themes that may not be suitable for all audiences. Read at your own discretion.
I think back to The Maury Show in thinking about episodes where teenage girls are hellbent on being pregnant. I think most about one girl (I think her name was Nicole) who was 15 at the time. Her and her boyfriend, Cruz, were reluctant and willing to have their baby. Cruz was even reluctant to get a job at Chuck E. Cheese's to help financially support the baby. Also, I think back to many other teenage girls who were seriously wanting to become mothers at such young ages. Some of them on Maury end up going to Baby Boot Camp. This is where teens reluctant to have children face the harsh reality of being a mother. Many of these wannabe teen moms fail at taking care of babies from other mothers. If you can't take care of one baby from one parent, how can you take care of children that YOU have?
Something else I think back on was back in the 10th Grade, where I met a girl in my P.E. class at Milby High School here in Houston (this was the 1998-1999 school year for me). I talked to her a bit as she was the only pregnant girl in my class. I had to wonder what exercises she could do and things like that. As my high school times were going to Hell, I ended up in alternative school with more girls in my age range that were either pregnant or have given birth. It led me to wonder how girls within the age range of 13 to 18 could even be pregnant. The feeling was mostly surreal knowing how teenage girls can be pregnant and still be in grade school.
The biggest problem is that being pregnant at a young age really takes away from the sort of freedom you have as a young girl. Instead of hanging out with friends or going out to the mall shopping, you have the responsibility of becoming a mother to your child or children. In addition to school, you have to worry about being a parent while also going to school. EXTRA responsibility on your behalf. Why responsibility? Simple- taking care of children is a lifelong process. There is nothing "cute" about having a child. Wanting to be a mother is a serious responsibility that shouldn't be taken carelessly or haphazardly. It isn't like playing with baby dolls. Think about it- you are giving birth to, and having to manage and raise a child. You have to go through nine months while also staying fit and healthy for both yourself and your baby. After that, you will have to realize that being a parent is a lifelong task. Again- NOTHING "cute" about getting pregnant or wanting to have a child.
There are too many responsibilities to take into account, and you have only one precious life (including the one precious life your child/children will have). Making some poor decisions early in your life may haunt you for the rest of your life. Giving birth to and taking care of a child (or children) is not something most teenage girls still in grade school want to deal with. That's why something like being pregnant early in your life is just too much responsibility for a young girl to have. You should be focused more on school and enjoying your youth rather than concern yourself with being a mother, especially at a young age. Don't put extra responsibility on yourself (as well as your parents) by wanting to be a teen mom. Get school out of the way (graduate), THEN worry about marriage and motherhood.
With this out of the way, let's begin the main point of this blog post.

^ from: startingrumors.com (best picture I could find) - Being young and pregnant can be tremendously difficult in going through life while also nursing and providing for a baby.
The first question most people (especially older adults) would wonder is why a teen girl between the ages of 13 and 18 even have unprotected sex. Such parents would be furious at their teen daughters for them to be pregnant while still in Middle School or High School. Here are two more issues that I have with this whole deal:
Those are the two primary issues that come to mind for me with this show.
Don't have unprotected sex with others without considering the consequences of engaging in intercourse. Think ahead to prevent any future problems from occurring or arising. You have the decision to NOT have unprotected sex with a female as much as you have a choice to have unprotected sex with a female.
So think before you have sex. REALLY think.
As if it isn't obvious, you can read my related blog post, "Young and Pregnant" here on John's Blog Space, for more of my thoughts on being pregnant at a young age. Thank you for reading! --- Young and Pregnant: Retrospective ---
Before I talk about this show, let me offer some brief insight from my past blog post, "Young and Pregnant." These issues will lead up to me eventually talking about MTV's "16 and Pregnant" show.I think back to The Maury Show in thinking about episodes where teenage girls are hellbent on being pregnant. --- "16 and Pregnant" and its Issues ---

Issue 1: Why Have Sex Before Age 18?
Unprotected sex at a young age will bring almost ANY parent into an uproar. The first order of business is to even envision that a teenage schoolgirl is pregnant. As we grow older, we begin to think about issues that will affect us later in life. One such aspect involves becoming a parent.Issue 2: Accepting Being Pregnant as a Teenage Girl.
A big reason why this is such a huge issue is the fact that a girl still in Middle and High School should NOT be having children. While that is true, unprotected sex among teenagers still is a gripping issue. Having such unprotected sex lends itself to the possibilities of being pregnant. If the girl somehow gets knocked up, life changes forever, not just for the pregnant teen girl, but also for the possible teenage boy father. Those are the two primary issues that come to mind for me with this show.

It is important that the teen parents and their respective parents will have to step up to take care of a child or children. Accepting responsibility and living up to responsibility are both key elements in being successful as teen parents. Some parents are understanding and want to help their daughter make the parenting process a bit easier. Some, however, will only offer so much or hardly any support. Stepping up being parents is a responsibility for not only the teen daughter, but also the father of the child (or children).--- A Harsh Reminder ---
Of all the themes involving teen pregnancy and having sex, it goes to show the potential aftershock of trying to randomly having unprotected sex with as multiple females as possible. It may sound cool for guys to basically have sex with whatever females they want and with as many as they want, but you run the risk of possibly getting someone else pregnant. That scorned female may want to go after you in Maury fashion by pinning a baby or babies on you. Especially if you are with some girl and you have sex with another woman, you may end up having to accept responsibility in being a father figure to a love child.Don't have unprotected sex with others without considering the consequences of engaging in intercourse. Think ahead to prevent any future problems from occurring or arising. You have the decision to NOT have unprotected sex with a female as much as you have a choice to have unprotected sex with a female.
So think before you have sex. REALLY think.

Bully Beatdown
(UPDATED: Febuary 15, 2012)
Sometimes, you want to watch certain shows to see what they are about. Sometimes, you want to give something new a try. So judging on this blog post's title, you know what I'm talking about. This is a show called "Bully Beatdown." This is basically a show where people who get bullied on have people get put into a mixed martial arts (MMA) cage against a real MMA fighter. What do I think about this show? That's what you're about to find out in this blog post.
This is the yet another blog post I did concerning an MTV show since talking about "My Super Sweet Sixteen" and "America's Best Dance Crew" in past blog posts.

^ from: www.mmagospel.com - Bully Beatdown - where bullies meet their match against MMA fighters.
I've watched only two shows. Well actually, 1.5 episodes. I was watching wrestling and switched over to MTV2 when wrestling was off. The first episode I saw was of a bully girl named Amanda that bullied a girl named Keiko. Then, it was this (first time I ever used this word in my blog) douchebag named Kevin who has a pompadour hairstyle with greased-over hair who bullied two guys. Amanda had to go against the "karate hottie" Michelle Waterson, and Kevin had to go against Tyron "T-Wood" Woodley.
The venue is somewhat like an underground fight club as a King of the Cage octagon is where the action takes place. Anyone who may watch MTV2 (especially in recent times) may know of MTV2 showing the Bellator fighting tournament. So this would be a nice tie-in for promotion of mixed martial arts on the MTV networks. The host of Bully Beatdown is Mark Burnett, who often confronts these bullies as well as root on the MMA fighters.
The bully beating down takes place in two individual matches at five minutes each. The first round is grapples only (no striking allowed). The second round is a straight-up kickboxing match. In the first round, the bully starts with $5K USD and loses $1K each time the he/she taps out to the MMA professional. The $1K goes to the bullying victim(s) for each tapout within the five-minute frame. In the second round, if the bully manages to last five minutes against the MMA fighter in a straight-up kickboxing match, he/she wins $5K. But if the bully gets knocked out, gives up, or if the referee has to stop the fight; the bully gives up $5K USD to the bullying victim(s).
So this is basically a challenge of if a bully can stand a total of ten minutes against a real MMA fighter. Sort of like the MMA fighters being enforcers to people whom have been bullied. Everyone is at least 18 years old for what I know. Therefore, it isn't like Elementary and Secondary school kids are called up to be beaten down by MMA fighters.
There are two dynamics that concern me here. The first dynamic pertains to not being able to defend for yourself or try to handle someone according, and the other is on showcasing MMA fighters in this sort of way "Bully Beatdown" does.
Also, it isn't like the MMA fighters are doing any tremendously serious contact to (essentially) unconditioned athletes. The contact and everything is real, but not any of the serious contact grapples and strikes you would normally see in a proper MMA fight. There are some more intense manuvers (not that I am a regular watcher of MMA fights) that can really cripple and badly injure any unconditioned person or athlete.
If anything, this is a show where people who think they are so tough meet their match against conditioned fighters. This is a radical concept to showcase the toughness of MMA fighters while also teaching lesser folk not to mess with MMA fighters. It would be strange if a show like "Bully Beatdown" can encourage average folk (like you and I) to stand up for ourselves better against bullies and against other would-be foes through hand-to-hand combat. That potential and that drive are certainly there. It isn't some show with whiny people who have nothing better to say than "what the hell!?" So it's a pretty cool concept. I just feel sorry for the bullies who get called out to be on "Bully Beatdown" to take a pounding they so deserve.
My YouTube viewers may remember my "Abusive and Controlling Men" video (as well as my blog post of the same name). If I were the producer of "Bully Beatdown," I'd change the theme of the show from handling bullies to handling men who treat their women like slaves/garbage/property. Otherwise, this is a completely different concept from what one would normally see in justice served to guilty parties for their actions.
"Bully Beatdown" is a show to check out if you want to see something a bit different on TV. Take it from yours truly.

So this would be a nice tie-in for promotion of mixed martial arts on the MTV networks. The host of Bully Beatdown is Mark Burnett, who often confronts these bullies as well as root on the MMA fighters.
--- How Bully Beatdown Works ---
Here's how the show breaks down:The bully beating down takes place in two individual matches at five minutes each. The first round is grapples only (no striking allowed). The second round is a straight-up kickboxing match. In the first round, the bully starts with $5K USD and loses $1K each time the he/she taps out to the MMA professional. Everyone is at least 18 years old for what I know. Therefore, it isn't like Elementary and Secondary school kids are called up to be beaten down by MMA fighters.
--- Personal Opinions of This Concept ---
"Bully Beatdown" is different as a concept. Rather than verbally confront bullies on most shows, bullies are confronted by MMA fighters in a test of toughness. This is more like a reality check for bullies who think they are tougher than everybody else. This show is different since there is actual physical contact against such perpetrators as opposed to a talking-to on most other shows. There are two dynamics that concern me here. The first dynamic pertains to not being able to defend for yourself or try to handle someone according, and the other is on showcasing MMA fighters in this sort of way "Bully Beatdown" does.
"Bully Beatdown" Concept: Can't Fend for Oneself.
I'd personally feel bad knowing I could have handled somebody myself without needing to bring someone to a national TV show to go against an MMA fighter. I've dealt with my own share of idiots at school and in life. Even if at the expense of getting into trouble, I have to fend for myself."Bully Beatdown" Concept: MMA Promotion.
If anything, MMA fighters are being seen more as enforcers in this show. MMA involves both striking attacks in addition to graples. One has to have agility as well as good upper and lower body strength. The dynamics of MMA are much different from boxing because you have to utilize an equal balance of lower and upper body strength. Of course in boxing, it helps to be quick on your feet.

Megumi Hayashibara
Megumi Hayshibara is a true heavyweight of anime. Her resumé is a who's who of various anime series as well as a handful of great songs by her. It almost seems like she's been in everywhere in anime and elsewhere. The (born March 30, 1967)-year old native of Tokyo, Japan just makes you wonder- is there anything in anime or music you HAVEN'T done? This blog post is about anime staple and heavyweight... the one, the only, Megumi Hayashibara.

^ from: www.askactor.com - Megumi Hayashibara basically ruled the '90s (and even the 2000s) in anime and anime music- she was seemingly EVERYWHERE!
Megumi Hayshibara has lent her voice to many songs and media. That even includes her work in the Ranma 1/2 series (which is my all-time favorite anime) among MANY other roles. I have even heard a lot of Megumi's musical work as well. A number of songs compliment some of the many different anime and video game series she's involved in. When away from her many singing and voice acting roles, she's a fully-registered nurse. According to what I read, she was never hired as a nurse for any position. Megumi also used to be a DJ while in nursing school. However, her career didn't last very long as a DJ despite having her own radio show. She's even authored a manga biography called "Megumi-Toons," but the artwork was done by someone else. To all the petite ladies who may be reading this- she's one of yours! Megumi Hayashibara stands all of 5'1"!
[Some of] Megumi's many voice roles (sources: Anime News Network, IMDb, and Wikipedia)
* Ranma Saotome in "Ranma 1/2"(when Ranma is a girl)
* Rei Ayanami of "Neon Genesis Evangelion"
* Momoko Sakurayama of "Patlabor: The TV Series"
* Musashi/Jessie (of Team Rocket) in the "Pokémon series ("Team Rocket's blasting off again!" *ding* ^_^)
* Faye Valentine of Cowboy Bebop (LOVE Cowboy Bebop!)
* Haruka Urashima in "Love Hina"
* Diddy Kong in the Japanese version of "Donkey Kong Country" (I didn't know that)
* Fukumen, Genkai (young) from "YuYu Hakusho"
* Lina Inverse from "Slayers"
* Hello Kitty in "Hello Kitty Ringo no Mori no Fantasy"
* Latias, Gardevoir in "Super Smash Bros. Brawl"
Most of her work in voice-overs has landed her with some of the biggest roles in some of the biggest series. This alone is proof that people have (1) given her a chance, (2) become so well-liked that she took on so many roles, and (3) has really established herself as a heavyweight in the industry.
^ "Give me a Reason" (1996, "Slayers Next")
^ "Sakura Saku" (2000, "Love Hina")
^ "Oversoul" (Opening to Shaman King)
Megumi Hayashibara supplements her voice to this lovely remix of "A Cruel Angel's Thesis" from Neon Genesis Evangelion:
I don't watch as much anime as I would like to. However, Cruel Angel Thesis looks very cool from another video I saw when preparing this blog post. Two of my all-time favorite series in sci-fi robotic fighting are Mobile Suit Gundam and Macross Plus.
This is Hayashibara Megumi rocking out live with "Northern Lights" below:
Again- Megumi Hayashibara has seemingly been everywhere. Her music is as popular as many of her voice over roles.
Anywhere. Everywhere. There seemed like nothing Megumi Hayashibara couldn't do. I have so much respect for her and all of her work. You know you want more Megumi! :) Here are some more links to help you to learn more about Megumi Hayashibara. Feel free to help yourself here:

--- Megumi Hayashibara ---
This was the best I could find to introduce you to Megumi-san:

Megumi Hayashibara: Voice Overs.
Megumi has taken on many roles. I will name only so many of them because she has taken on so many roles, so here are some of the different roles and characters she has lent voices to:[Some of] Megumi's many voice roles (sources: Anime News Network, IMDb, and Wikipedia)

Megumi Hayashibara: Music.
When she debuted in music in 1990, she made a single called "Pulse." Her first album was released a year later called "Half and Half." The following YouTube videos demonstrate Megumi Hayashibara and her singing:^ "Give me a Reason" (1996, "Slayers Next")

--- What I Would Tell Megumi Hayashibara (if she read this) ---
Megumi Hayashibara, you have basically defined excellence in music and in your many voiceover roles. All kinds of roles and all kinds of success. You HAVE to be in some sort of Hall of Fame or have some sort of lifetime acheivement award or something for your work. I think even anyone who is even remotely fond of anime has to appreciate your work and all the various roles you've taken throughout your career. You have my full respect for your amazing work throughout your entire career.Would I Want to Meet Megumi Hayashibara (if given the chance)?
Megumi is Japanese media royalty to me, so absolutely!Anywhere. Everywhere. There seemed like nothing Megumi Hayashibara couldn't do. I have so much respect for her and all of her work. Thoughts on Esperanza Spalding's Grammy Upset of Justin Bieber for Best New Artist
I asked the same question- who is Esperanza Spalding? You know what I'm talking about if you saw the 53rd Annual Grammy Awards back on Sunday. Justin Bieber was almost a lock for the Grammy of Best New Artist. You don't have the sort of meteoric rise that J-Be had... and NOT pick up a prestigious title like Best New Artist. Nobody heard of or cared about Esperanza Spalding, a jazz bassist and singer from Portland, Oregon, USA; until they saw Esperanza upset J-Be for the honor of Best New Artist. What was a stunner to me, however, was how some upset fans felt it was best to trash Esperanza Spalding's Wikipedia entry.
This blog post is just a few thoughts about how some J-Be fans felt about the upset of Justin Bieber losing Best New Artist to a relatively unknown performer. This is not a "Famous Person" post of any kind. I am not here to profile either Esperanza Spalding or Justin Bieber. All this is about is my own thoughts regarding how some fans have reacted towards Justin Bieber not winning the Grammy for Best New Artist and the reaction certain fans have made in response to this.
BEFORE I BEGIN: If you are new to my blog, welcome to "John's Blog Space." The opinions I express are not meant to attack anyone or undermine any specific entity or party. I don't post blog posts just to gain negative attention. I am truthful and professional in my comments. So having said this, get ready to read my thoughts.

^ from: www.jazzpdx.org - "Who is Esperanza Spalding?" You probably were not the only one to ask this question!
Here's how the deal unfolded. There were five nominees for Best New Artist. Esperanza Spalding was one of five different nominees up for the award. These were the nominees:
* Esperanza Spalding
* Justin Bieber
* Drake
* Florence and the Machine
* Mumford and Sons
And as you can tell from context, Esperanza Spalding won the title to MY amazement including the rest of the world who had Bieber Fever. Those who can't stand Justin Bieber would probably say that he is severely overrated and should stop whining about not winning Best New Artist. Those who truly love Justin Bieber felt heartbroken that J-Be didn't get the honor thanks to the relative unknown (unless you follow Esperanza's genre of music) Esperanza Spalding. Some who probably are complete music fans (meaning lovers of many kinds of music) likely feel that it's great for Esperanza to win the honors that she did.
What happens when you're a fan of someone or something, and you become heartbroken they didn't win something significant? You go on a spat. That's EXACTLY what some Justin Bieber fans did, trashing the Wikipedia entry on Esperanza Spalding by posting all kinds of crap about her. The trashed page was later cleaned up by Wikipedia. Clearly, some Bieber fans took this Grammy loss almost as if a corrupted and controversial politician was elected leader of a nation. Was this really necessary? I am here to post my own thoughts in the next section.
Bieber would be the outright winner of Best New Artist in the minds of many, but the Grammy voters chose Esperanza Spalding instead. J-Be fans who thought Bieber would win the Grammy for Best New Artist probably thought he was snubbed in favor of Esperanza Spalding. Those who probably believe in conspiracy theory thought that Bieber was going to win Best New Artist hands down... until someone or something voted Esperanza Spalding instead for the Grammy.
I am not any kind of Bieber fanatic. I respect Justin Bieber greatly. I DON'T respect how certain fans can stoop to such a low of going on an epic rage and trashing online material related to Esperanza Spalding. Winning a Grammy is a prestigious honor. Anyone, at least in the mainstream American music society, dreams of winning a Grammy (even if not any televised honors) for their work. Winning a Grammy completes you and establishes you as a musical elite. Winning multiple Grammy awards establishes you as a total elite.
I think Justin Bieber will win at least one Grammy award before he completely hangs up his musical career. Some fans took Bieber's losing of Best New Artist too far. Trashing somebody else's online profile just because Justin Bieber didn't win Best New Artist is NOT... and I repeat, NOT going to help better his chances of being Best New Artist. If anything, it just speaks volumes to how inconsiderate and tasteless some fans of Justin Bieber have been in handling this Grammy upset. You do NOT go around posting upsetting and threatening content just because your musical favorite didn't win a certain award. You are putting yourself in potential trouble by posting such content online. I am not disrespecting all fans of Justin Bieber- I am just taking issue with Justin Bieber fans who thought it was okay to trash somebody [that very few have ever heard of] for winning an award that an outright favorite probably should have won.
Justin Bieber still shown his support to all of his fans for cheering him on in not winning Best New Artist (including a few other Grammy nominations he didn't win). Bieber even said that himself this experience has helped him to work harder to win himself one or multiple Grammy awards in the future. Some disgruntled J-Be fans just chose to go to this extreme of trashing Esperanza the way they did. You're not fighting Bieber's battles- you're just disgracing yourself while showing support for J-Be. Justin Bieber just didn't win Best New Artist at this year's Grammys. It is not the end of the world. Get a hold of yourself and be more considerate to other artists. And just because you've never heard of an artist or group doesn't mean you have to hate on him/her/them.
Justin Bieber may have lost Best New Artist to Esperanza Spalding, but the REAL losers are all the ones who disgraced themselves in the process of disgracing Esperanza. You stooped yourself to such an incredulous low in showing your disapproval of Justin Bieber not winning the Best New Artist Grammy award. Congratulations, sore losers. You may now use this wise usage of your time wisely to make your acceptance speech for being such inconsiderate and disrespectful fans of music. Congratulations on this dishonor to all of you who vented your anger at Esperanza in this manner.
Thank you for reading my blog post! These were my thoughts regarding the stupidity of some Justin Bieber fans who thought it was necessary and warranted to post threatening and disrespectful material to Esperanza Spalding just because she won Best New Artist over Justin Bieber. I am always willing to wonder what your response is to my content. Feel free to post your own comments in response to my blog post (as well as on any others that interest you).

My thoughts on this whole deal requires me to look at this from a number of perspectives. So bear with me here.Understanding the Frustration.
If you are in the movie business, your goal is to win Emmy awards. If you are in the Broadway musical business (I personally severely dislike Broadway musicals), you want to win Tony awards. If you are in the musical business, you want to win the Grammys. Look back at the nominees for Best New Artist for 2010- Justin Bieber was an absolute lock, and only Drake would be the second-best pick. So for Justin Bieber to not win Best New Artist at the 53rd Annual Grammy Awards is truly heartbreaking considering the meteoric rise to fame the Canadian teenager has garnered. The Grammys are NOT a Popularity Contest.
As much as I like to think it is like a popularity contest, the Grammys encompass all of music- not just the more popular genres of music. The sad fact of the Grammys (for most people, anyways) is... the Grammys is about excellence in multiple forms of music. Esperanza Spalding won Best New Artist over Justin Bieber in an upset. It's an upset to me because no one could have envisioned someone not seriously popular to win this award. It's like when I was stunned during the 2009 Video Music Awards when Taylor Swift won "Best Female Video" (and we all know what happened after she won the award when a fellow named KanYe West shown up on stage) in an upset.Bieber would be the outright winner of Best New Artist in the minds of many, but the Grammy voters chose Esperanza Spalding instead.
Severe Side Effects of "Bieber Fever."
Bieber Fever is what many fans have for fans of Justin Bieber. If there were side effects to Bieber Fever, certain fans demonstrated the most severe side effects after the Grammys- total lack of respect for the other nominees. I was as stunned that Justin Bieber didn't win Best New Artist as you probably were (unless you hate Justin Bieber). What I am disgusted with was how people felt it was absolutely needed to trash Esperanza Spalding with disrespectful and threatening comments online.I am not any kind of Bieber fanatic.
Looking at the Issue in a Different Way.
As an alternative example, I wanted Lady Antebellum (remember- I'm not a country music fanatic) to win the Triple Crown of Grammys- Record of the Year, Song of the Year, and Album of the Year. I wanted them to get this Triple Crown since they were having such a wonderful night. They were denied that Triple Crown when The Suburbs (who I NEVER heard of and weren't impressed with) won "Album of the Year" over Lady Antebellum. When Lady Antebellum didn't win "Album of the Year," did I go on an epic rage posting all kinds of hateful material online? No. I wasn't part of the voting committee to vote for the Grammy winners. I am a fan of music just like many of you. My influence wouldn't have meant anything in swaying the interest of the Grammy voters to choose Lady Antebellum over The Suburbs as much as J-Be fans' influences wouldn't have swayed Best New Artist honors from Esperanza Spalding to Justin Bieber. In Conclusion...
The classless and stupid ways of certain Justin Bieber fans, who decided the best way to vent frustration by trashing another artist, was completely unnecessary. What has Esperanza Spalding done to you to where you feel it is perfectly acceptable to trash Esperanza for winning a Grammy that Justin Bieber probably should have won? You probably never heard of Esperanza Spalding until the 53rd Annual Grammy Awards like I have. That doesn't mean, however, that you should rant on Esperanza Spalding like she stole a Grammy from Justin Bieber. Fact of the matter is- Esperanza seemingly did more than enough to win the respect of Grammy voters than what Justin Bieber has worked up for the past few years. I see this as an upset and still see this as an upset. What makes ME upset is how some J-Be fans felt it was absolutely necessary to post threatening and disgraceful content online, even if you have never heard of Esperanza Spalding.Justin Bieber still shown his support to all of his fans for cheering him on in not winning Best New Artist (including a few other Grammy nominations he didn't win).
--- What I Would Tell Justin and Esperanza (if they read this) ---
What would I say......to Justin Bieber?
If Justin Bieber somehow reads this... I'm sorry you didn't win Best New Artist. You're going to win at least one Grammy award before you completely retire from music. Keep your head up and keep working to make great music....to Esperanza Spalding?
Congratulations to you, Esperanza! Very few people have ever heard of you until you won the Grammy for Best New Artist. Congratulations on winning this honor.Thank you for reading my blog post!

Top Gear America
America's Top Gear debuted on The History Channel at 10:00 PM Eastern Time. This is America's version of the world-renowned Top Gear. Even the Top Gear theme (a song called "Jessica") played to open the show. Top Gear America features a unique three-man crew. The crew of Adam Ferrara, Rutledge Wood, and (one of my personal favorite driving personalities) Tanner Foust. Many purists of the Top Gear series think Top Gear America is going to be so not as spectacular as the world-renowned Top Gear of BBC and of the United Kingdom. Even Fast Lane Daily host, Derek DeAngelis, noted in a segment with news on the prospect of Top Gear America that Top Gear America is going to be nowhere near as incredible as the original Top Gear. Derek D himself even wouldn't mind being one of the three hosts. I mean, let's face it... the automobile was born in Europe (or at least the modern automobile), Europe boasts some of the best roads and tracks, and the distinct flavor of the world-famous Top Gear would be tough to replicate or better with this American version. Throughout this blog post, I will use "Top Gear America" to differentiate between Top Gear on the BBC in the United Kingdom.
I will not post any real spoilers or sensitive information in this initial post. I may update this in the future with a few different key figures.
I sometimes feel like our attempts to bring non-American material to American television usually lacks the character and personality of the concept it's based on. A world-class TV show like Top Gear has to be world-class for a non-British version. There is Top Gear Australia, for example. I think Top Gear Australia is done pretty well based on videos on YouTube that I have seen. So it was time for Top Gear America to get some face time. How did it do after tonight's big premiere?
The show does instill the elements that make the original Top Gear great- humor, interesting driving segments, the Stig, its own Top Gear test track, and of course... the cars. The Ferrara-Wood-Foust tandem is a nice combination. It may not be Clarkson-Hammond-May, but it's a good combination worthy for American television. I am a great fan of Tanner Foust. I knew if there was an American who could take a car to the limit and look cool doing it, it's Tanner Foust. Rutledge Wood did some pretty good comedy himself. I think the way Top Gear America describes everything is done so professionally and quite well. You can know nothing about the Top Gear series and already get a basic understanding of all the different concepts of Top Gear by watching the American Top Gear. It's that good.
The "Star in a Reasonably-Priced Car" segment of Top Gear on BBC is "Big Star, Little Car" for Top Gear America. The reasonably-priced car is the Suzuki SX4. I'm a little surprised they didn't use a car like the Chevrolet Cruze. Buzz Aldrin was the first star to take on the Top Gear America course.
The two segments involved a race between between two "snakes," and another was about three awesome Lamborghinis. Again- no sensitive information revealed here.
The best aspect of Top Gear (let alone T.G. America) is that you do not have to be a car fan to love the show and the series. I think Top Gear America has many elements that make for our own unique Top Gear as opposed to being some kind of little brother/sister to Top Gear BBC. The driving and the humor makes this show great for what it is. I think you should give this show a chance. As of this blog post, I hear there are nine more weeks of the first-ever Top Gear America season. This is the first of a ten-week season. Rather than think of Top Gear America as something to better or surpass the original Top Gear, think of Top Gear America as a show that is OUR Top Gear. Doesn't mean ours is better. It just means that we have a Top Gear to be proud of. I mean, Top Gear Australia is a good program for the Australian market. And when you're talking Top Gear, you'd BETTER be as good as the world-famous Top Gear program. You wouldn't want to disgrace what the original Top Gear brought to motoring television by coming up with a dissatisfying program. Homework was done and complete on making Top Gear America as good of a program as the Top Gear the rest of the world knows.
The moral of the story- this is a quality Top Gear American audienecs can be proud of. Give this show a chance, and you'll actually be rewarded (especially if you are a fan of the original Top Gear) with a quality Top Gear for the U.S. Top Gear America is more like an expansion team of Top Gear rather than some show trying to steal the original Top Gear's thunder. I actually thought this was a great show. I may not watch Top Gear America often, but I do appreciate the amount of work and the amount of effort to make this show as good as the world-famous Top Gear. My salute goes out to everyone who helped make this show happen.

--- Overall Review ---
Top Gear America isn't the world-famous Top Gear on BBC, but it is a great program. The people behind Top Gear America really did their homework in figuring out how to make Top Gear America as great as the BBC's Top Gear. This is essentially a Top Gear us Americans can be proud of. If you're thinking that this Top Gear is going to surpass the Top Gear almost every car fan knows, think again. Then too, I don't think the Top Gear America crew cares if they are even trying to compare our TG against TG on BBC.The best aspect of Top Gear (let alone T.G.
