Dresses With Cowboy Boots

UPDATED: February 18, 2012)

This blog entry was created on March 1, 2010 as a re-make of a blog entry originally made on January 3, 2010. Pairing a lovely dress (preferably a dress above the knees to mini dress length) is indicative of a country princess. Are you a country cutie? You just might be if you pair a cute sundress with some nice cowboy boots. This blog post is all about the look of wearing dresses with cowboy boots.

--- Dresses With Cowboy Boots at a Glance ---

Here is an example of the look I'll discuss, courtesy of the one I closest I associate the look with- Miss Taylor Alison Swift:

Other Dress + Cowboy Boots Combinations.

...and here is a picture of two ladies pairing cute sundresses with cowboy boots:

Taylor Swift's signature kind of style is a dress paired with a pair of boots. And usually with Taylor to show her country heritage, she'd normally sport a pair of cowboy boots along with a cute dress. Many feel that cowboy boots are NEVER stylish. Those who especially feel so would think that going with cowboy boots to wear with a girly dress is grounds for a hot mess. So how do I feel about the look?

I personally think pairing cowboy boots with a cute sundress can be a cute combination. A lovely sundress with a lovely pair of cowboy boots can make a nice combination. You don't have to be a country girl to enjoy country style. I just immediately look to Taylor Swift as far as pairing dresses with cowboy boots. Taylor does it so well, and it defines her style- girly cute with loads of style.

--- Dresses + Cowboy Boots Inspiration ---

As you may know, I am a Taylor Swift fan. Taylor exudes a level of loveliness and girly charm with her looks. She has the most beautiful curly hair of almost any famous person right now. There was a point where I felt like casual dresses on females was a dying trend. I'm glad there are those like Taylor who show that dresses are still very fun and beautiful to wear, even if it's given way to the ubiquitous denim mini skirt. The dresses usually worn by Taylor are beautiful. Pair them with boots (let alone cowboy boots), and she has a beautiful look.

A fashion admittance of mine is that the most important thing I check for are shoes. The loveliest look can be made terrible by wearing the wrong pair of shoes. You sometimes take a chance on certain shoes or whatever. In the case of a dress (between short and mid-length) with cowboy boots, I think it's a cute look as long as you can pull it off. If I were a female, my first inclination would be to pair a beautiful sundress with a pair of peep-toe pumps or some strappy sandals. So going with cowboy boots with a feminine dress is quite a gamble. Do you sacrifice feminine charm for a country-inspired look?

Going With the Dress + Cowboy Boot Combination.

I think if any female is going for this look, it would be best to find a beautiful enough casual dress to try this look out with. A good pair of cowboy boots to compliment them would have to be consistent. So I'm thinking... if you have a coral-colored dress, a pair of mahogany or chocolate cowboy boots would equal a great look. The look that most comes to mind for me would be a lemon yellow sundress with brown cowboy boots. I think it's a cute look to try out if you're a femme. Show a little country chic while wearing a beautiful short or mid-length dress. I don't hate this look. Taylor Swift really makes this look work.

It would be best to find a comfortable and beautiful short or mid-length dress to wear, and then find a lovely pair of boots to complete the look. I like this look as Taylor Swift really makes it work.

Thanks for visiting John's Blog Space!

After the Jump Break, I've tried to put together different looks involving dresses and a pair of cowboy boots to go with them. You can shop for sundresses by visiting my secondary blog. Follow the image to visit my secondary blog and the link to sundresses:

If you're interested in shopping for sundresses, please visit my secondary blog featuring lots of sundresses. Many of them may be lovely enough to wear with cowboy boots! ;)

--- Building the Look ---

This is a look of girly and beautiful... with some country chic thrown in. I've initially intended on re-doing this blog entry to include some resources for if you want to have your own dress and cowboy boots. I won't mention too many as I don't want to waste too much time discussing this look as I had already done previously.

NOTE: This section contains links to Amazon products. You are welcome to click on images and links to learn more about each item. You are free to order any items featured in this section or in any widget if you choose. Please see "An Important Amazon Note" in my blog's sidebar to see more information on any Amazon items shown.

Some items may no longer be available on Amazon as of the date of this blog post or on the date of any updates.

You don't have to be a true cowgirl or a true country girl to enjoy this look. What you're about to see below are a bunch of looks I've put together to demonstrate the look I've discussed in this blog entry. What you're getting here is a grab bag fashion look. If you want to buy any of the items I've featured in this section, please follow each Amazon image to buy the item you want or to learn more about. I will supply as much information about each individual item. Remember the key pieces- a dress of any kind (preferably short to mid-length) and the cowboy boots. Here is a synopsis of the looks in question:

Dresses with Cowboy Boots Synopsis:
• Freestyle - a free-form look with no real theme.
• Inexpensive - this look with cheaply-priced items. The emphasis is on price and not quality.
• Girls - this look for little girls.
• Plus Size - a plus size version of this look. Appropriate shoe sizes will be a challenge.
• Designer Diva (NEW CONCEPT!) - items for this look are based solely on popular names. Prices may vary.
• High-End Diva - this look ONLY consists of expensive (but relevant) items. Its premise is on expensive clothes from some high-end makes.

Now you know what each sub-section will entail.

(EDITED: May 9, 2011) - just the dress and cowboy boots will be offered. Learn more about each item by visiting Amazon. All items are offered and displayed for educational/entertainment purposes. You are, however, encouraged to purchase anything you see that you like.

NOTE: All items are in Women's US Sizes unless otherwise notified.

Outfit 1: Freestyle.

This outfit was not made with any consideration to body size, price of items, or anything like that. So let's begin with the first look!

This first look is somewhat a freestyle that resembles a fictional MUGEN character I have yet to introduce to my blog. The premise was for a simple and cute sundress to be paired with some lovely cowboy boots. Consider this a start. The dress is for Juniors from XOXO. The cowboy boots are from BCBGeneration.

Outfit 2: Inexpensive.

Now it's on to discuss this look with inexpensive items. Quality of the items is not the issue- it's about low-priced items that look good regardless. Remember to click on any item you see here that you want to buy or want to learn more about:

The dress is from Alki'i, and the boots are from Rocket Dog. The boots should go pretty nicely with the dress regardless of whichever of the boots' two colors you choose. This whole look should cost no more than $50 USD or $60 USD (unless you want to add some accessories).

Outfit 3: Dress with Cowboy Boots for Girls.

I don't get any feedback about any fashions for kids. I will try to come up with a cute outfit for girls. This is for your little girl (for all the parents reading my blog entries) in being her own Taylor Swift-inspired little diva. So here is a sample look for her:

Both the dress and boots are cute. This is a cute look for the little girl. The dress is from Sweet Heart Rose for Girls (7-16 US size).

Outfit 4: Dress with Cowboy Boots for Plus Size Women.

It's time for Taylor Swift style for plus size ladies! The boots will be a challenge, but I will try to find a good dress to go with a good pair of cowboy boots.

(Black only - Women's sizes: 6.5 B(M) US to 10 B(M) US)

I actually couldn't find a lovely pair of affordable boots. Still, this is not bad to me. These are cowboy boots with a chic edge from Rampage along with a paisley dress from PacificPlex.

Outfit 5: Dress with Cowboy Boots for Designer Diva.

This is a new concept I'm trying out. The premise for this look is on either semi-expensive clothing or mostly on popular designers. It's somewhat a step down from my splurge-happy high-end looks. So here is a designer diva look:

It's the combination of a Patagonia dress and Durango boots. Both items are offered in multiple colors. Chic guaranteed with this look (at least to me)!

Outfit 6: Dress with Cowboy Boots for the High-End Diva.

This is expensive fashion for the high-end diva. You know, the ones only content on wasting money like it's water. Since this is where I feature expensive stuff, I'm not expecting anyone to buy either of these two items (unless you love them). So here is probably a high-dollar version of this look. It's just to show that you CAN build this look even if you were of socialite status. The key factor is on the price each item sells for on Amazon. I try to find the most expensive stuff while still remaining relevant to the post in question. If you dare spend lots of money, check this combination out:

I actually can't believe how much cowboy boots can cost! In a way, I'd be stupid not to include Texas' own Lucchese in this blog entry. The lady would be the perfect combination of girly cute with some cowboy character. This is cowgirl meets high-end diva. If I come along with any other looks, I'll update this blog entry as many times as need be. Let me know what you think of the looks I've selected. Most of all... with any outfit, confidence is the best accessory. Don't try out a look if you're not confident it will work for you. Find more sundresses and cowboy/Western boots in my widgets below.

Let me just say again- thanks to everyone for making this blog post popular.
